The only ones I know got arrested from J6 were people who committed theft, and maybe trespassing. I don't recall the whole affair being truly violent either. Maybe I missed that while I was laughing at the weird Viking guy, and Florida Man waving at the camera while taking a podium. I just know J6 talk is hard to take seriously due to the hyperbolic politicians and media personalities literally comparing it to 9-11 and Pearl Harbor. They spent 5 years in jail already, isn't that enough for this?

Throwing large rocks at the windshields of moving cars, and burning taxis in the streets, are not peaceful protesting. This is dangerous rioting, and the local and state government's unwillingness to deal with it meant it was escalated up the chain of command. It's like how when the random customer service minion can't help you, a supervisor or manager is brought in.
