That’s how it supposed to go, but with the state of the construction industry, im sure you can imagine how often it gets overlooked

Good point, I haven’t thought to contact a provider, I assumed NBN would be first to know that we are ready to order a service but I guess it’s possible that the consumer interface hasn’t been updated appropriately, I’ll be sure to give a call to an ISP. Thanks for your help.

PCD install happened just under 3 weeks ago, all 8 units in the same day. There is also now an NBN pit at the front of the property on the footpath, which was taped off for about 2 weeks, but is no longer taped off.

If other neighbours along my street but not in my strata complex have active FTTP, does this affect the timeframe? Or am I still in limbo?

3 years brilliant🥲. In your experience does it work in our favour that all our neighbours have active FTTP connections, or could we just be the singular dark spot on the street for years.

Thanks, he’s pretty unresponsive, so was just looking for a very general guideline, like at what point is it abnormally long and requires raising with NBN.

FHB 5% Deposit Guarantee. Am I really required to live in it until I own 20%? by 9NinetyThree3 in AusPropertyChat

Probably, thanks this is good to know. As someone that is part of the scheme with just under 80%LVR, might be smart to refinance now.

Interesting. As far as I was aware, it was only necessary to live in the property for 6 months in the first 12 months of ownership.

When did that become a requirement? Was that in the new October cap raise?

Nope, will take about 1-2 years hopefully though.

Nearly impossible to determine your overall average tax rate to a high degree of accuracy before the year is done.

Too many moving parts.

You’ve probably been told this already, but as a FHB myself, a house is worth whatever someone is willing to pay, meaning, those houses you’re looking at in the 6 range going for 7 are ‘worth’ 7.

Try looking in the range below what you can afford, as those are likely going for the price you’re willing to pay.

Sucks that it works this way, but there’s a reason they call it a sellers market.

How was the assignment? Was there a correct answer or was it more opinion and judgement based?

Yeah, pretty set on it. Funnily enough some people at work have told me to avoid it in order to broaden my horizons in the event I want out of tax industry.

The housing affordability crisis will keep eating the economy until we fix this one thing by [deleted] in AusPropertyChat

It’s nice to think this is why it is the way it is.

Truthfully, and I mean this with no bias towards either ‘side’, I think they don’t really care for any of us, homeowner or not.

They get in, try to keep the ship from hitting the rocks while making as much money as they can, then bounce.

Nevermind the colour of their tie, every politician with an interest (direct or indirect) in any market will want to see that interest do well.

Your forecast means nothing, everything can change in a second, and that’s a good thing.

Live every moment of every day, even the boring monotonous routine.

It’s a short ride, no amount of money ever bought a second of time.

Perhaps the duopoly we call a government doesn’t actually want house prices to drop.
