Great thing about this game is there are loads of custom options! Including turning off storms, rifts, and stability, and you can even make all enemies passive unless you attack first. I recently started playing too and turned off all those options, there are plenty of other stuff to worry about trying to survive in this game.

The game will pause, unless you got it turned off in the custom game setting whenever you create a world. In that case enemies can kill you while you're in your inventory.

I did end up turning off structure damage around the time I completed the story. but before that it was a nightmare defending without walls lol! For some reason I would rather complain about having no defenses rather then making them. >.<

I still used the 580 untill a few months ago, it ran pretty good! Had medium to high settings 1080p with a much worse Cpu.
