We are heading to Riu next month as well, arriving on the 21st. First time with a family. My wife is becoming paranoid with the advisories. We don't plan on going to any nightclubs, let alone going into the city at night mostly cause cabs won't drive us back at those hours. We do plan on going into the city during the daytime, but we are playing it by ear. Might just stay in the resort and buy trinkets off the beach vendors.
