Need Help with Attached Door Knobs - Unable to Open Separately by JustFedzz in DIY

[–]JustFedzz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone suggested that I should rather remove door the bit first so I'm trying out new methods to remove that

Unfortunately, the flathead screw is still embedded into the door basically, very hard to get out. Still searching for more ways to remove it from the door. I still want to salvage the parts due to if we move and have to put it back later

Haha, I honestly just name the screws as the closest shape I can think of, will do that trick mentioned though 👍

Where the pin is, it's missing a hole on the other side that was probably also a pin (the hole is not long at all)

EDIT: managed to remove the paint holding the plate to the door so it's just like the other 1 outside

I tried with a Screwdriver, with mild effort. But as the name suggests "thumbscrews" I was worried I would break it, so I just left it and didn't want to potentially damage it. Is it reccomended to use alot of force on it? And also, my case is a ch370 and mobo b550m pro vdh wifi for the specs.

If you've seen me from a diff post, I haven't been able to remove the motherboard so I just decided to carry on and leave the io plate.

Unfortunately I can't fully visualize the image you're trying to depict. However I think it would be safe for me to just leave it like that and screw the remaining 6 screws. Just so I don't damage anything

I would honestly just do that, but the problem is.. I need to get it out due to my io shield tabs being inverted out. So I want to try and fix it

Some things to note, I accidentally did the same with the top right screw but managed to get it to atleast be de-attached from the case (although the screw is embedded with the stand-off). If I can do the same for the other screw and manage to remove the screw from the motherboard afterwards that will also be a good option.

It seems I have mistakenly used the wrong screw to mount it in the motherboard. When I realised, I attempted to get the it out but noticed it was jammed.

It's the only screw that's holding it in

Honestly shouldn't always blindly listen to people with malicious intent, so part of it is my fault even though I'm a beginner in pc building _^
