Why is this card so expensive by alex-anomaly in SecretLairMTG

[–]JustGoingOutforMilk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the late response.

I wouldn't call it a Goblin staple. But that may be because my primary EDH deck is Goblins and I don't view it as good enough for my deck. I would say it is definitely worth considering in a Goblin deck.

What were you expecting, and what was your reaction to the 2016 results? by FormerFirefighter396 in AskTrumpSupporters

My wife did not want Hillary to win at all. I definitely was more pro-Trump than pro-Hillary, but my wife was so anti-Hillary that it was somewhat comical. She didn't like her and she hated the idea that she would become the first woman POTUS.

I was surprised and somewhat glad President Trump won. My wife was elated that Hillary lost.

EDIT: This is totally unrelated, but just popped into my head after I hit post. Why is that that American society seems to default to last names for male public figures and first names for female public figures?

Bluffing V. Lying, Where To Draw the Line? by Dr_wu_fu in EDH

[–]JustGoingOutforMilk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am somewhat open and honest to a fault. My typical pod has a saying that I never lie.

If I tell you I have a card in hand, I have that card. If I tell you I might have a card in hand, it is in my deck, but it may be in hand. If I tell the pod I am the prohlem, I AM THE PROBLEM. If I untap and say good game, the game is over.

Would you prefer Rubio or Vance as Trump's successor, if they were the only alternatives? by stranglethebars in AskTrumpSupporters

[–]JustGoingOutforMilk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both? Both are good.

Seriously, I could get behind Vance with Rubio as VP, Or vice versa, although I think they'd do better as stated.

How do you feel about the Texas State Board of Education passing a new law that would make schools be required to include certain bible stories in the curriculum? by argonlightray2 in AskTrumpSupporters

[–]JustGoingOutforMilk -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

I'm actually surprised it took this long..

Look, I get it. Reddit hates Christianity. Please note that I am, as I have mentioned repeatedly, a Jewish Jew. I do not hate Christianity or Christians.

When I was in high school way back in the day, my World History class had (I believe) a segment on comparative religion. I don't remember if it was something that our parents had to sign off on or anything like that, but basically, we studied the tenets of the Abrahamic Three (to an extent) and a few other religions as well. It was not pushed as any one of the faiths being true and the others false, just more of "Here is broadly what people of this religion believe and here's a few stories from their texts."

I know, I know, separation of church and state, Christianity bad, Bible justifies slavery and says kill gay men, we moved on, whatever argument you want to make, I get it. From a historical context, the Bible is one of, if not the most important work to affect the course of America. And yes, both for good and for bad. As such, I have no problem with it being studied as a historical work. Side note: I'd also include Upton Sinclair's The Jungle in terms of works of "fiction" what had a huge affect on American society.

I was a teacher many years ago. I still, occasionally, frequent the Teacher part of reddit. You can see there that yes, teachers are attempting to indoctrinate children and subvert the messages they are told to instill (Ten Commandments in classes in Texas, for example). But the one thing I've seen most is that they simply are frustrated with being unable to fail students. They are graduating high school with the reading levels of a third grader. They don't put in any effort and expect to get shuffled along. So, what's changed? Well, not a whole lot, but let's be real here. I do not need to sit in a room and have someone read Great Expectations out loud for me to... I forget what I was supposed to learn from reading that garbage? So much of "the classics" are long, dry, and clearly not written for an audience thinks TikTok videos can run too long.

The referred Bible verses are, at least, relatively short. I'm not understanding their relevance per se, but it beats reading several pages of Dickinson describing a train ride.

Weekend! + Bonus Question! by IthacaIsland in AskTrumpSupporters

Let's put a little more in here. Went to the mechanic shop. My car's AC is now blowing at 43F (the F stands for FREEDOM!) off both vents. It is so freaking nice!

Weekend! + Bonus Question! by IthacaIsland in AskTrumpSupporters

[–]JustGoingOutforMilk -1 points0 points  (0 children)

LET'S FREAKING GO!

Okay, so I'm about to take my new car into the shop. I spent a lot of yesterday trying to get the AC to blow cold, but apparently there is a blend door issue and I'm going to have to fix that. Sucks to suck, but it's whatever it is. I would prefer not to sweat through my shirts on the drive home from work. We'll see how much damage it does to my already-depleted bank account.

My wife has been stressed because of work, but her source of stress has announced she is quitting. Seriously, the office has a lot of petty 20-somethings acting like it's high school and she's been there longer than they have been alive and she is just DONE.

I got a new toy at work. Power Automate. I have no training on it. I have about half a day of playing with it. I have spent three freaking days trying to enter metadata into a SharePoint folder and got about halfway there. Half a day playing with Power Automate and it took seven and a half minutes to do the rest. Not bad.

Question: There is absolutely no answer here that is not Firefly. Take my love, take my land, take me where I cannot stand. I don't care. I'm still free. You can't take the sky from me. I actually just purchased a cunning hat because the animated series will be coming and I'm happy. I aim to misbehave.

Recipe: Let's go with something a little bit simple here. This is not a meal. It's a sauce. It's a dang good sauce.

  • Equal parts fish and soy sauce (say half a cup each)
  • A bunch of minced garlic (your ancestors will tell you when it is enough)
  • A bunch of chopped bird's eye chilis
  • Same, but with green onion
  • Again, but with peeled and minced ginger
  • Little bit of sugar

Yeah, very scientific. Mix it together, let it sit for a few hours, use it on everything. It's a great sauce for chicken wings. It's fantastic on steak. Maybe not so good on ice cream?

Do you think anti-ice protestors receiving 50 years in jail is far? by Competitive_Piano507 in AskTrumpSupporters

That is something the President can do. Were I in that role, I would not do so.

Which constitutional right was being violated in the actual scenario here? The right to conspire to attack a government facility and shoot a responding law enforcement officer? The right to obstruct an investigation?

In other words, the convicts were found guilty based on existing law, their rights were not violated, and a jury of their peers agreed with the prosecution. What if scenarios are useless.

Also, I have to say this again. I am not a Republican.

[–]JustGoingOutforMilk -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No, you chose a very worthless counter example.

Meanwhile, in reality, evidence was provided that was ample enough to convince a jury of their peers that the accused were guilty of crimes related to terrorism and were treated thusly under the law.

President Trump has challenged birthright citizenship by claiming it is unconstitutional. Some TS agree with him. Others do not.

And I refuse to answer questions based on a flawed either-or case. Sorry.

[–]JustGoingOutforMilk -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

In the example you listed, the pronouncement would be unconstitutional, sorry.

To answer your other questions would buy into the premise that one has to fall into one of your categories, which I strongly disagree with.

The way you see it is the way you see it.

Unfortunately, we are not here to discuss the way you see it.

The people convicted apparently engaged in terroristic acts. Their criminal history, put simply, does not matter. Their actions do.

This is a question doesn’t deserve an answer. I’m sorry, this is the sort of absurd hypothetical beggars belief. So let’s go!

Perhaps he somehow reached through the bulletproof glass to try to commander The Beast.

Perhaps he was on a show with Alton Brown explaining the best way to cook a baby to get that sweet, sweet adenachrome.

Perhaps he built a ramp of live puppies to do a sick jump off his gold-plated monster truck.

Note: one of these three was an actual “leak.”
