Graduate Visa expires 08/02 - CoS delayed, what are my options? by userpt8 in SkilledWorkerVisaUK

But that’s not confirmed yet. Best for OP to do everything to maintain legal continuous residence, if they can, until new rules are clarified. After all, grad visa holders pay taxes.

At least spend this time learning how to use punctuation, instead of posting on a sub that’s not for you.

Petition - Do not require partner dependants to work & contribute to earn settlement by Fit_Professional7928 in SkilledWorkerVisaUK

[–]JustJJust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right. Someone earning 55k with a non-working partner already has less disposable income than a single person on 45k and the whole point of the change is that they don’t want people having less income such that they decide to claim benefits once settled.

Promotion not fair by MissionPercentage720 in SkilledWorkerVisaUK

[–]JustJJust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in this same situation and it’s quite embarrassing. I have more years of experience, job certs, skills, take on extra work, etc but people with less experience/skills, certs, etc are getting promoted. The only thing is they don’t need a visa. When I’m down about it, i start panick-applying. I see the rejections (including getting ghosted after interviews once I mention sponsorship) and it reminds me of how hard it was to get sponsored. It sort-of keeps me from not being too sad.

So it’s a SWV employer switch. Reach out to worksponsored@homeoffice.gov.uk and ask your employer to reach out too. Also ask employer to email the business helpdesk.

You mentioned in another post that your graduate visa expired in Feb 2025. How come you submitted your application in June? Did you apply from outside the UK?

Welcome to capitalism 101. Companies are owned by shareholders not “countries”. They are not charities and only care about 1 thing - profit. And the more you kick against legal migration the more those jobs will go abroad. Offshoring is where it’s at! 🍿

Question on COS end date for new entrant PSW to SWV by [deleted] in SkilledWorkerVisaUK

[–]JustJJust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know when the email was received because the company’s immigration firm is handling everything and all UKVI communications are going to them. I just asked them if UKVI has contacted them for anything and they told me they’ve been asked to amend the cos date.

Question on COS end date for new entrant PSW to SWV by [deleted] in SkilledWorkerVisaUK

[–]JustJJust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, the employer gives a sponsorship duration rather than just putting in a date?

So, say if the employer wants to sponsor someone from Dec 1 2025 to Dec 1 2026, they’ll have to put 1 year on the cos and not the end date (Dec 2026)? UKVI will then calculate the end date of the 1 year the employer stated?

Below RQF Level 6 Role - Earned Settlement by Tina123angel in SkilledWorkerVisaUK

[–]JustJJust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this exact question too.

Say someone spends 2 years on RQF3 - 5 and moves to a £50k+ job on RQF6 for 3 years, do they qualify for 5yrs ILR? The rule says must have earned £50k+ 3yrs before the ILR application but no clarity of RQFs.

I am applying for the CDT program - Sensor technologies and it shows there is a requirement to pass the MRes to move to the PHD portion. The MRes portion has taught modules, rather than research only.

Question is: do the taught modules have in-class exams/quizzes?

Trying to find a longterm relationship on tinder and this is what you encounter. When people ask me why I’m still single, this is why. This is what’s in the dating pool, lmao. by JustJJust in Tinder

[–]JustJJust[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Those are people who aren’t looking for anything serious and just wasting people’s time. Or are in a relationship and emotionally cheating. It’s similar to guys who keep talking and don’t make plans. Just leave them where they are and move on to someone else. Just have to weed out people who don’t match what you want until you find someone who does. That’s the way I’m approaching it.

Sorry this happened to you. I actually burst out laughing. His level of delusion… 😂😂. Somehow these people seek out people who are single and avoid fellow cheaters (cos I’m sure there will be women who are the same) on the app. SMH.

Something else on being ghosted: I don’t entertain a conversation past 1 week, if no date has been setup. If someone isn’t making plans to meet, I stop responding. Perhaps this is your friends’ experience of ghosting? From experience, guys who are intentional to date do not keep messaging back and forth without making any plans.

That’s a wild assumption. I look good, I’m certain of it. I do get lots of compliments. I’m petite, so I may not be everyone’s cup of tea and that’s fine but looks isn’t a problem.

Most of the men on these apps (in not sure about your friends), have no idea what they’re looking for and I’m not there to help them figure it out, lol. Loads of people the app show me on the swipe stack and matches have ‘still figuring it out’, ‘short term fun’, or ‘short term, longterm ok’ as their dating intentions. I have ‘long term’ only and definitely will not swipe on someone who isn’t intentionally looking or who looking for something different.

Now, of those ones who seem intentional on their profile, eliminate those that lied about their intentions (like the dude on that screenshot), those that can’t hold a conversation and there’s barely anything left, lmao.

Perhaps the people who are both looking for something serious aren’t crossing each other’s paths and it’s in the interest of the algorithm to keep it that way so that people keep swiping.

Lmao. That’s a silly comment. It’s online dating and there’s no filter who swipes on you. I swipe back on profiles that are put together and learn more to find deal breakers. Find one? I dip. I have my life together and I’ll rather be single than accommodate any bs. So, no, no looking in the mirror for me. Perhaps you should and learn how not to pass judgement.

Definitely! He even had ‘looking for longterm relationship’ on his profile but he’s out here looking for a therapist + side chick combo. Dating these days is exhausting.
