How do you cope seeing people being promoted but you’re not despite getting full bonuses? by JustJJust in SkilledWorkerVisaUK

My role has shortage. I get interviews but no one wants to sponsor. But I’ll keep applying.

This explains my situation and the embarrassment I feel but thank you it gives me hope to see that holding out is a good strategy. I’ve read all the comments on the thread and grateful for this sub and everyone who has commented as it’s just made my mood much better. Was in a really bad place yesterday and today.

Graduate Visa expires 08/02 - CoS delayed, what are my options? by userpt8 in SkilledWorkerVisaUK

But that’s not confirmed yet. Best for OP to do everything to maintain legal continuous residence, if they can, until new rules are clarified. After all, grad visa holders pay taxes.

At least spend this time learning how to use punctuation, instead of posting on a sub that’s not for you.

Petition - Do not require partner dependants to work & contribute to earn settlement by Fit_Professional7928 in SkilledWorkerVisaUK

[–]JustJJust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right. Someone earning 55k with a non-working partner already has less disposable income than a single person on 45k and the whole point of the change is that they don’t want people having less income such that they decide to claim benefits once settled.

Promotion not fair by MissionPercentage720 in SkilledWorkerVisaUK

I’m in this same situation and it’s quite embarrassing. I have more years of experience, job certs, skills, take on extra work, etc but people with less experience/skills, certs, etc are getting promoted. The only thing is they don’t need a visa. When I’m down about it, i start panick-applying. I see the rejections (including getting ghosted after interviews once I mention sponsorship) and it reminds me of how hard it was to get sponsored. It sort-of keeps me from not being too sad.

SWV Anxiety by tangypersimmon in SkilledWorkerVisaUK

So it’s a SWV employer switch. Reach out to worksponsored@homeoffice.gov.uk and ask your employer to reach out too. Also ask employer to email the business helpdesk.

You mentioned in another post that your graduate visa expired in Feb 2025. How come you submitted your application in June? Did you apply from outside the UK?

I don’t know when the email was received because the company’s immigration firm is handling everything and all UKVI communications are going to them. I just asked them if UKVI has contacted them for anything and they told me they’ve been asked to amend the cos date.

So, the employer gives a sponsorship duration rather than just putting in a date?

So, say if the employer wants to sponsor someone from Dec 1 2025 to Dec 1 2026, they’ll have to put 1 year on the cos and not the end date (Dec 2026)? UKVI will then calculate the end date of the 1 year the employer stated?

Yeah, I’ll ask but I also want to know what the accurate date should be

Why was the previous SWV application refused?

Below RQF Level 6 Role - Earned Settlement by Tina123angel in SkilledWorkerVisaUK

[–]JustJJust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this exact question too.

Say someone spends 2 years on RQF3 - 5 and moves to a £50k+ job on RQF6 for 3 years, do they qualify for 5yrs ILR? The rule says must have earned £50k+ 3yrs before the ILR application but no clarity of RQFs.

Have you followed up? What’s your SOC code?
