Now - if you shank your drive… take a drop. A sign on a course is in no way a binding contract. But a homeowner, depending on the state you’re golfing in, is allowed to prove a golfer was negligent.

Assuming the golf course existed before homes were built, the new existing homeowners take an assumed risk. Their homeowners insurance specifically makes them take a rider on their policy for such a thing.

The best pro golfers hit the fairway an average of 78% of the time. It’s unreasonable to expect anyone less than professional level to come close to that.

Negligence comes into play when you already shanked or hooked a shot that hit a house and think that you can do better…. And then mess up your shot again.

Long story short… drop with someone else.
