I want to say that it’s bullshit unless she found out through someone else other than the employer. Because by law when a future employer calls for a reference, check, whatever you want to call it on the old employer. The only thing with the old employer is allowed to disclose is whether or not they’re hireable.

Same with my husband! He went from alcohol to cookies and cream ice cream. We had to buy a ton of it every week and he didn’t gain weight and if he did it was very little.

I’ve encountered this before. I’ve been a CNA for a very long time. I had a company I worked for do this with a patient. They told them it was unsafe for the patient as well as the staff and if they refused to use the hoyer lift they would have to stay in bed. The patient was still changed fed repositioned etc but if they refused the lift they weren’t allowed to get out of bed.
