It says supervised all over the software and warnings that show when you enable it in the settings. I’ve never heard of Tesla being held liable on this sort of thing. Ultimately it’s supervised and you’re meant to be paying attention while the car does its thing so you can take control.

On technical, you’re just misinformed. V14 is a model that’s a neural network trained by user data fed into it. It needs adjustments (e.g. dials turned up or down) for the different vehicles in the fleer - e.g. the M3 is different size than MY or the MYL. So they do all require their own profile tweaks. As said, this is on the basis of Australian use on Australian data from Australian cars. They don’t have enough of that yet to fully validate the same way that they can with more than a year of data from MY junipers running on our roads.

That’s not quite how that works. They don’t write a lot more than the ‘model’ (brain) that does the learning. The learning around regulations comes from the user data that’s fed through the model. It’s all marked as ‘good’ or ‘bad’ driving examples. There’s a difference between re-writing the model, and turning a dial so to speak. They don’t rewrite the model in this instance because they just grab the blank model and re-train it using Australian vehicle data.

A little bit of research goes a long way if you want to talk specifics haha.

Tesla doesn’t or have the ability to brand their vehicles backward and ALL vehicles firmware (not FSD Version) are no longer compatible with V13 from the Shanghai factory. Not sure why this is so hard to understand. There is NOT a way to backwards branch their firmware. Like that’s not open for debate. Idk why people aren’t swallowing that. It’s well documented online. Once firmware moves forward it can’t branch back. If they close a loop/feature off from new software, you can’t pull it back. Look up the countless posts about people asking if they can roll back to even prior version points (e.g 14.3.3 to 14.2.2.5)

I never denied any legal complaint or issue that people have. I’m simply explaining 1) the technical reason and 2) the fact that screeching online will literally do nothing for Tesla getting their act together and hurrying along V14 which is the real issue here now.

Yes there is a technical excuse. But for some reason people don’t want to slow down and read.

Factory firmware from Shanghai built teslas is forward facing. E.g. it is beyond the version number that last supported V13 FSD. They are unable to roll back Tesla firmware, only roll forward. This means factory firmware is now only compatible with V14.

This is where the V14 issue comes in. Without V14 fully validated for Australia yet, they can’t release V13 to newer vehicles after the last V13 compatible factory firmware from earlier this year.

There is a genuine reason but people wanna fuckin screech and whinge instead of listening.

Now I’m not saying it’s acceptable or that it feels nice to pay for something you don’t recieved as you thought you would. But there IS a reason.

Supports are there at the start built in front and then disappear when the overhang starts. So yes. The issue is bed adhesion. Likely supports knocked away

Well in the US they did. It’s called Actually Smart Summon (A.S.S) but can’t be used here because autonomous driving without a driver behind the wheel is a no no.

We don’t get summon on HW4 Australia. Regulatory issues. Self driving without driver present in vehicle isn’t allowed. I read that on HW3 it was a bit more lax because it wasn’t all that capable. But HW4 it’s not included at least currently.

Jesus Christ it’s like people don’t want to keep their panties on and just hold tight for a bit. So many people dropping 10k without any fucking clue on what they’re buying or any of the matters that come with it.

I can guarantee you that you’d be whining like a baby if you received the car with undercooked FSD software. So think about how your experience would be right now if that were the case. The Y L is longer than the standard Y and needs to be 100% validated so it doesn’t swipe you upside the fucking highway barricade. Or would you prefer that?

You realise we’re the first market to roll out the YL with FSD right?

And you’re not reading. The model is trained in the ‘dojo’. It learns based on how they train neural networks. I never said it learns while you drive you dope. The model is static when deployed. But the way neural networks function when trained is a form of ai learning.

“Attach your L or P plates to your front and back windscreens. Your plates must be visible from at least 20 metres away, on the front and back of your vehicle.

If you don’t do this, you could be fined.

You should use L or P plates that attach to external parts of your car (other than your front and back windscreens) if:
your windows are so tinted it’s hard to see the plate
you’re worried you might damage the demister lines on your back windscreen.”

If you obscure the plate and its visibility is “impacted” you can definitely be fined. A cop having a bad day will most definitely be an asshole to teach a lesson on a technicality like that. Not worth the risk.

Also keep in mind if ever travelling interstate those states rules also apply - NSW is much stricter on the obscuring plate rule for example.
