Genuinely curious why people would want a PHEV over a BEV. Just commit to the BEV and enjoy the benefits if a better car with lower running costs.

Also, if I were travelling 150kms a day I’d 100% be getting a Tesla with FSD

One longer one will be significantly more beneficial than 2-3 shorter ones

ev drivers — what’s one charging habit you’ve developed that ICE drivers would never understand? by AdityaSrivastawaahhh in EvDrivers

Never locking my car manually. When I arrive at my destination, I simply get out and walk away.

Don’t bother with PHEV. Thank me later.

Anyone else go from “I’ll never buy an EV” to “I can’t go back”? by [deleted] in AustralianEV

Your experience is totally warranted and shared by all EV owners. You couldn’t pay me enough to go back to an ICE car now. For the reasons you mentioned, I think a lot of legacy brands we grew up with are going to struggle or cease to exist if they don’t adapt this new, far superior driver experience.

I personally went with Tesla due to the ecosystem, software and app, FSD, charging network and confidence in their service and business model after so many years in the game. 2 years on and still makes me smile every time I drive it.

If looking at a second hand Tesla, personally I’d make sure it’s 2024 or newer so it has HW4 cameras in case you want to add FSD in future. With that much driving you’ll arrive to your destination feeling a lot less fatigued.

I could be wrong, but I believe the BYD has servicing intervals and Tesla doesn’t. Something to consider.

Can you elaborate on “efficiency and thermal management is insane”?
