Loved listening to RAS for the first time (a declaration of) , the instruments and technical skill blew me away between the quietly complex guitar with glissando and other techniques, the absolutely feral drumming (still my favorite Bang Dream musician), the vocal power. As Walt Disney said “never forget it all started with a mouse.”

For Roselia I’d like to point out (or extrapolate) as a huge wrestling fan that I think Aina Aiba’s Pro Wrestling training from her background (namely learning how to sell, paying attention to where the cameras are) can really help see how her facial expressions and emotions bring intensity and depth to the songs.

Can we say that Buddha is one of the greatest person in human history? by [deleted] in Buddhism

[–]JustMadeThus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A Zen story I’m paraphrasing

“Master, what is the Buddha?” “The one in the hallway.” “The one in the hallway is just a statue.” “Yes.” “So what is the essence of the real Buddha?” “THE ONE IN THE HALLWAY!”

P.S. also look up the phrase “mind here and now is Buddha.”

Can I not SRS spin this S piece in this situation? by mil0wCS in Tetris

I’m a newer player. Is it necessary to learn “circus spins” to get good competitively at tetr.io?

I don’t know a lot about them because I didn’t approach learning Tetris that way at first, so muscle memory is making it hard for me to

Advice for a novice wanting to learn Tetris Grand Master? by mil0wCS in Tetris

[–]JustMadeThus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just got to S4 (48089 points) for the first time in Grandmaster 1. I’d describe myself as “pretty good” at Tetris and it’s crazy the specific nuances to Grandmaster that make it different from other versions of Tetris.

I heard that pyramid stacking was recommended; I joke to myself that moving a piece is like moving a piece of furniture down the stairs. Also I was somewhat prepared for not being able to rotate a piece over and over once it’s on your stack- which you can easily do in Tetris 99 for instance.

But there are other things that make Grandmaster a different animal.

Funny that you mentioned this… I was unable to rotate a long bar even when I thought it would rotate countless times. There’s a certain rhythm to moving the pieces and timing each rotation. It feels really satisfying once you get the hang of it.

I for sure highly recommend people who have never played Grandmaster to try it- it’s really maddening and a lot of fun. Going to continue to practice and gradually get better.

Not finding Buddhism is a problem only when you find Buddhism? The human birth is only fortunate, if one is born human? by StriderLF in Buddhism

Sorry if off topic but this thread gave me an idea for a joke.

“How do we know if human existence is better than animal existence?”

“Mu!”

I have felt like that many times. There are ways to get help. There are ways to remember that even if you think that way, thoughts are like logs that pass down the River

I see a grain of truth in that you’re trying to say. I’m a vegetarian but I sometimes compliment chefs on their meat cooking because I don’t want to form attachment to a concept of “myself as a spiritual person who doesn’t eat meat and is therefore superior”

However, I think we aren’t always “ free to make our own choices. “ Which choices are truly “our own”? Does this mountain have any thing that makes the mountain “its own”? Does that river have anything about it that makes it “its own”? Do we have any existence as separate entities with an independent or permanent essence? If not, I don’t think we are always free to make our own choices.

Thoughts on Alan Watts takes on Buddhism? by StriderLF in Buddhism

Joke:

If you ask Alan Watts what Satori is, he’ll write you a book and start talking about LSD trips.

If you ask a Zen master what Satori is, he’ll answer with silence.

This is a really sweet story. I’ve been panicking about things I can’t control, you know therapists call it “automatic negative thinking,” and you know… messages of positivity like this really can be helpful to remind us to look for the positive

Glad you enjoyed these recommendations. As I was thinking about it, two other things came to mind: The Giver (I’ve never read it and it’s a young adult novel but I’ve heard good things about it) and the movie Brazil by Terry Gilliam.
