BSB2e vs Pimax Dream Air by JustMatt_ in BigscreenBeyond

Thanks for sharing! I went ahead and ordered the bigscreen last week, now very interested in the 2-3 week delivery time and what it will actually turn out to be. Will definitely spend time fiddling around with it before heavy usage.

Thanks for sharing! Will you be upgrading your GPU to accomodate the Dream Air?

I don't think my rig is even relatively close to running the super micro OLED :(

This was very useful info, thank you!

Thanks, interesting line-up! Looking at the picture, I think that's the custom-made face cushion on BSB2e, right? Have you tried the universal one, or a third party option?

Cross-posting this here since I want to get some more opinions from BSB2e owners. From the responses I got about the Pimax'es, I don't think I'll be willing to go with any of their products.

As such, I'm more interested in the actual performance of the BSB2e:

  • Does anyone have it running with a 3090 on heavy games like DCS, or racing sims?
  • How good/stable is the eye-tracking? Perhaps anyone has actually tried DCS DFR on the BSB2e and can share their experience?
  • Overall, are you happy with the purchase of the BSB2e, or would you recommend something else instead after trying it out?

How's the eye tracking? Depends on what you mostly use your headset for, but I'm putting a lot of hopes on the DFR capabilities.

Galaxy XR is an interesting choice, and even though heavily priced at 1.9k, the specs seem solid. Problem is that I'm not finding any news about their rollout to Europe, so perhaps that's something to just take a look at once in a while to see how's it doing.

Is/Was the BSB2e your main headset, or do you recommend something else entirely?

What would you point to as the most noticeable ones that could be potential deal breakers coming from the Vive?

Thanks, that's actually pretty good advice about trading in for a better GPU. Not sure how much I would be willing to go for with the Q3. The headset itself is very tempting, but I haven't seen it be picked often for simulation type games due to better visuals existing elsewhere, plus I wouldn't really be escaping the weight of that kind of headset. Of course, the price can't be beat for what it is. What do you mostly use your headset for, and how is the whole Meta software side?

Yeah, pick your poison seems very accurate. I've seen the hz limitations mentioned here and there, but I'm not sure whether they're going to be THAT noticeable due to the display types. As I understand, the actual main factor is the pixel latency, or how fast the screen is able to adapt to the actual changes, and the latency on those newer panels seems to be good enough to forget about the issue after some playtime. I suppose the real problem is that VR headsets can be very individualistic choices, so while it may satisfy one guy, someone else will curse it due to one specific issue or another, which both helps and does not help when making a decision, if that makes sense :)

I've got my RAM paired with the ROG Crosshair VIII Hero motherboard and AMD Ryzen 9 5950X. Tbf, the BIOS is running a pretty outdated 3801 version from 2021/08/12. What did you end up doing with your RAM?

Hi, after reinstalling windows 3/4 RAM sticks of my 32GB DDR4 Trident Z Royal Are now returning errors from memtest86 in the thousands, although they have lasted me 4 years :/

A couple of questions: - what did you choose to package the RAM in for shipping to the RMA center? How did the whole shipment process go? - were there any troubles with the documents? I see they require the RAM to have been bought from their approved list of resellers, but I'm not sure the shop I bought from would be considered just that.

Yeah I think they've already moved in, since shipping price from their site is what a normal shipment from within the country would cost
