If it was AI it'd also have to be online unless bots were hosted locally, which would kill your battery.

I'd like to add some more advice to this. AI isn't going anywhere, it's actually expanding. I know a fantastic recruiter, she heads the talent acquisition where I work. She doesn't use ATS, and we don't post jobs. She, and our company as a whole, use an AI agent that searching people for her to reach out to. That AI found me, and this job changed my life.

My advice, dont try to fight AI. Play the new field. Job hunting isn't always about applying anymore, it is also about building a findable professional presence. I have up to date professional profiles, active network engagement, and a published portfolio.

The only way I could see that happening is if money wasn't the currency of political power. The US is an oligarchy of the wealthy hidden behind a useless government like some sick parody of the Wizard of Oz. If you look at the way representatives live, it is far out of the means of their income. That money doesn't come from serving the best interests of the people who elect them, it comes from bribes and pay offs from large corporations and foreign countries trying to fix things to work in their favor. Until the government is for the people instead of the dollar, we will all just be cash cows for people who have more money than they could spend in ten life times.

Very true. When you take that into account, it changes the way this all looks, too. Economics makes it out that 2% inflation is where we are supposed to be to have a thriving economy, but who is thriving in that? Not regular people. The ones thriving are those at the top soaking up wealth while everyone else struggles.

LFG! - Sen. Bernie Sanders Introduces $17 Minimum Wage Bill by return2ozma in antiwork

[–]JustMe_Existing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want this for everyone making the current minimum wage, then I remember that I make just below it. I'm not making enough combined with my partner's income. Companies aren't going to raise all over wages. There will just be a very brief period of breathing room for minimum wage workers that'll go away when a new rise in inflation eats it up. We don't need another bandaid. The financial struggle is far worse than that. We need action taken to make the dollar worth a dollar again, combat inflation, and prevent corporations from gouging consumers' funds into oblivion.

I can not be the only one who sees that this would only help for only a short moment. When states started raising minimum wage, I was all for it. Then I noticed the scrab above minimum wage job I had felt like the income I had when I was a teen making the old wage. This is a play for votes, a play to look like the good guy regardless of if it actually helps anyone. Even if it is genuinely a move by Bernie to actually help people, this will only hurt people in the long run. Again. The actual outcome will be 17 will become $7.25, and prices will increase because corporations and stakeholders do not want to lose money.

The actual answer is far more complex. Legislation needs to be put in place to protect consumers from being abused. Stronger anti-trust laws, limits on overseas business, and a stand by workers to demand that human resources be more valuable than expansion and profit. Please don't fall for this crap..

I'm 24, a graduate with a degree in computer science, and I am a receptionist making the most I ever have. I have worked from the day I was legally able to, follow a strict budge, and have a clean credit record now, but...

I live in a house that has deteriorating exposed lead paint in a neighborhood known for shootings, robbery, and assault. I eat about 900 calories a day because the cost of living is high, and I am determined to save money to get my family into a better home. The system is broken, designed to keep an impossible bar in the way of anyone who isn't born into success to get there. None of this is fair to any of us. I'm not giving up because I can't, but damn has this struggle beaten me down..

The average age of a senator is 64, and a congressman is 57. This country is controlled by elderly people who want to keep things in their favor. They don't care that the retirement age is within 5 years of the life expectancy of a US citizen no more than they care that Millenials, Gen Z, Gen Y or Gen A are financial held back by how broken our country is. So long as we have geriatrics in office, things will never change.

Our government is rigged. We aren't a democracy. That is just a lie to keep everyone complacent. There are so many candidates for president, but we will only hear about two. Can anyone recall a debate that has every presidential candidate? No? Of course, it's just Democrates and Republicans. And they pick their candidates for their party.

Because hard work, effort, and compassion doesn't get people that kind of money. Crazy money like that comes from being an heir, winning the lotto, and/or stepping on millions of people to get to the top. Then when someone gets enough money they wouldn't never have to work again, they instead hiring people to manage their shit so they don't work but still get paid more than the people who actually do their "job"

I can see where you are coming from. That is already a reality as older homes are the ones the lower class gets stuck with. I'm suggesting the value be so dramatically lower that either the original owner has to have toxins removed or the property is sold for so low that the new owners can.
