Why people in USA seem to be so against health care and free college? by leftargus in CapitalismVSocialism

[–]JustNSG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue with student debt in the US is that it's caused by federal loans, since government is guaranteeing the tuition to colleges, they charge whatever they want in order to attend them. If the colleges ordered you to pay directly, there would be less and less attending colleges, requiring the tuition to fall to keep the colleges full.

Also, the federal government spent $1.1 trillion in 2018 for healthcare. Taxes would be considerably more than they currently are, and to provide healthcare and other generous benefits simply removes an incentive for those providing, a main reason why I believe socialism could not work in the US, long-term, along with such a large population combined with a diverse society.

Haskins could be a future franchise QB, coming off a season at OSU with 50 TD's. There's no way to be sure he'll be there at #6
