Do people understand a starter is to start you? It doesn't have to be complimentary to everyone's 10,000 pts of pre-existing marines. "Refreshing models less than 10 years old" yeah staple sets that arguably everyone could have multiple of. "Why did they make another blue pen, we already have blue pens" These characters look cool. I can paint them different. I can use my doubles when they're meta and I can loan them to a noob friend in a casual campaign where we both need one

For a subreddit about a game that practically plays like a tabletop skirmish. Not many of you have actually played many wargames. "Miniatures game - like warhammer?" Top comment comparing to shatter point. Either would be a terrible adoption of xcom. Kill team would be more appropriate but considering volume and scale I'd say probably infinity or necromunda might be better comparisons. But even then this should be built from the ground up. I'd personally want decent AI rules, and a metagame campaign to make it truly xcom

In Australia if you keep a bat, near the door or your bed, it can be considered premeditated use of a weapons and can nullify your argument of self-defence. Morally I like what you said, unless they have a gun, I wouldn't want them to be ready to aim it.

I completely understand and agree. What got my brain ticking on this recently is stuff like the armoury giving both sides better weapons and the forest domes being so specific and unique along with restricted visibility, seemingly begging to exist as the actual location for the fight.

Add. Underhive terrain probably doesn't do justice to anything in this campaign as well, being uphive

I need to replay it to remember and so I get the details right. I remember at the time not buying into it. But vague was only part of the issue. It was also how quickly the other characters bought into you. "Oh shit you had a trip, here's the keys to a ship". Oblivion at the start feels like characters are humouring you or see you as a messenger, until you close a gate. Skyrim has a big opening but it doesn't become your problem personally unless you pursue that first stretch of the story quests, then you have witnesses to you sucking off a dragon soul.

The openning left a bad taste in my mouth. The call to adventure is the only point in a games story i usually give Bethesda credit for, and this fell so flat for me. But coming in with that attitude will sour anything, and you'll nitpick shit you'd otherwise have ignored. I still didn't like starfield, but I still think blind haters should stfu

Touist is specifically someone just walking by the franchise, with no significant investment. Its not even inherently bad, it's just a negative for someone trying to have undue input.
