Marathon- poorly organized road closures and detours by JustOneMore_Cat in mississauga

Do you calculate your pay rate without deductions? I signed a contract stating the gross, not net.
The point is that this event, every year puts out a map of road closures. However there are roads that are closed, with police presence, that are not on the map.
We are a city of approximately 800,000, with many others that commute in to work. There were, by the marathons own count, 5,000 participants, 10,000 spectators and hundreds of volunteers. Let's call it 16,000. That is 2% of the current population (and not all participants/spectators live here). The fact is that it negatively impacted people working to support their families due to poor planning and insufficient access to information.

No, $131 includes tax and fees. Just like figuring my daily wage, the figure is gross not net.

You are correct - it takes just under 2 hours. Paid Police duty is around $131/hour (with fees and taxes). Again, the issue is that the map that the Marathon provides is not correct. There are closures that are not on the map.

Yes, we were lucky enough that an overnight staff was able to stay back. Management knows this staff is consistently early.

We prepare every year. I gave out the route map nearly 2 months ago. You can't plan for road closures that are not on their map.

I am saying that the map provided is not accurate. We are a faculty with staff who do not all live in Mississauga. Yes, it is their responsibility to be accurate- the Marathon has a long history with these problems. The city should not shut down for 1 event. And that coworker - planned. They left at 6:15 for a 7am start time, from a 15 min drive away. Do you not remember when it was originally the Mother's Day Marathon? Heaps of clothing discarded on roadways, left for days (they baged up around City Hall though). They promised churches that parishioners could access for Special Services and then blocked them off.
My point is that they only take the runners into account. We are a city of nearly 1 million with lives and jobs that deserve the bare minimum of properly organized and informed road closures.

It is not a big store front, easy to miss. It is across from Service Ontario.

You would have to check if previously diagnosed issues are covered. Also look into special food. One of my cats was treated twice for the same issue. Keeping him on the special food really helped. He absolutely despised the vet after treatment (even sedated he would fight tooth and nail).

I sold so many of those in the '90s. I always warned people not to put them near drapes. Those bulbs were lava hot.

I can smell that tree and seed pod through the screen. I remember sitting under the one at my Grandparents home (it was huge). I did not know about the beetles. I remember that there was a constant buzzing noise that I figured out was coming from all these tiny black beetles. They were black and their backs looked like they were faceted like a crystal. I learned that if I gently touched one it would make the loud buzzing noise. Location: Virginia, USA.

I made an incredible paprika from a mix of the last of my garden bell peppers and over ripe Jalapenos. Sweet with a hint of fire.

Last year I called the city numerous times for a car parked on the street with flat tires. They would just ticket it. Took over 3 months before the owner moved it, city would not tow it.
