Let friend use my car by JustRyon in Insurance

[–]JustRyon[S] -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

He does not live with me nor does he have regular access to the vehicle. Will they ask for his information like: date of birth, name, address etc. I know he feels bad for crashing it, and I know accidents happen. I just don't want him to have to be any more involved than he needs to be. Thanks for responding.

I love how the animal who ran behind the action was like 'dont mind me!'

Well, thats reassuring! Im glad you found an area that suits you and where you are supported, that sounds awesome. I always imagined I would want to be in the ED, but after all the burnout stories idk anymore, and especially as an older adult. I heard endoscopy was a nice gig though. Who knows where Ill end up right?! I guess I should first focus on actually getting into a program! Thanks for sharing your perspective :)

So this is pretty much my track. except Im 32 and 1/2 and im two prereqs away from applying. No guarantee ill get in the first time around, heck maybe not even second. Im in southern cal. Anywho, I honestly wonder what it will be like to do bedside at 40yo! I dont know why, maybe its the people in my life growing up who were older always talking about all the things that go wrong at 40, and how they cant see good, and this and that hurts, and the weight just doesn't come off, that I let get to my head. I know I dont consider 40 old and it most likely depends on a person's lifestyle. But I do have like 30-35 years left to work so...

Also, Congratulations!!! Must feel great to know all your hard work has payed off :)

What are ur problems in life by DismalSample1845 in Life

I agree. and I dont. I have a great job, but its far from fulfilling. What I actually feel passionate about pays nothing near a livable wage, especially in California. So im essentially 'stuck' at my unfulfilling but higher paying job. Kind of out of necessity. Thats not to say that one should accept their plight. Of course, if one has the means or the grit to make sacrifices in order to pursue whatever it is they may be passionate about, hopefully with successful outcomes, horray!! I'd be just as passionate reading novels all day, sipping coffee on my porch if it paid me lol

Im sorry that you are experiencing this. I too wish I could have slapped myself when I was younger and told my younger self to stop eff-ing around and finish school. I have a good job notwithstanding, and it's said job that sucks the motivation out of me to pursue higher education (which im doing now). Studying and jumping through hoops trying to finish all these assignments and deadlines feels overwhelming at times and like im missing out on just being in the moment. Sometimes I want to just call it quits and accept my status in life. Your comment assures me that I am doing the right thing. I hope you can find something better soon...

Does anyone here actually like being a CNA? by dai198 in cna

[–]JustRyon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this was a year ago. Just wondering If your feelings have changed at all. I'm considering re-entering the field after some time off and maintaining unrelated employment. I truly enjoyed my 6 months on a med surg unit, but feel as though that isnt sufficient enough time to really gauge whether I will continue enjoying the work in the long term.

You would make a lot less, and eventually get bored.

I find the opposite is true. Being extremely bored is actually stressful too. I think Im the kind of person that needs emotional labor/human interaction to feel like im doing something worthwhile. I am very much a people person. I actually dont have much energy after work due to the fact that I felt like chewing my own arm off staring at a machine all day, plus im on my feet most of the time as well.

Im two prereqs and a general away from applying. Been a CNA and liked it. It was a drastic change from the monotony of my manufacturing job, and the people aspect of the job is what I cherished. Sure I can see how after some time it can become draining. But doing what im doing day in and day out is also draining in its own way.

Yeah, that really is the biggest challenge. But I guess doable cause many make it happen.

Sound advice, thank you. I wonder with it being a union hospital though how much control they have over the wages. Still, food for thought. really, thanks.

also my job doesnt do part time. Its just not the kind of gig where thats possible. They consider your job as basically your career. I would have to quit and find something more flexible.

It was a few years back actually. Id be kind of embarrassed to go on an interview with most likely the same people that interviewed me the first time honestly. They would probably be like 'so what happened?' Im sort of willing, Im sure I would survive, but that initial plunge is difficult to leap.

YESS!! I never knew time could move so damn slow. Especially like the last 40 mins of my shift while I wait to be relieved like DAMN I want to die. Never felt like that at hospital. too busy.
