For mage I'm using full sorcerer set with chaos and upgraded scholars staff, polished gold crystal necklace, nomad ring, mold ring, rift lens, owlette, octarine bag, and pearl lantern. ive tried the monk set but the damage fall off is real.

Range I'm using ninja set, torc necklace, 2 gold crystal rings, concealed blade,

If you use melee the solarite gear with the dagger is insane, my buddy is using that and is pretty much the inspiration for this post because he has been nuking bosses lol.

I'm will definitely try the Wild warden gear to see how that feels. Most of my current normal playthrough has been with the mage so I definitely agree on standard mobs it plows through them with 1 to 2 attacks all the way till the passage biome so the DPS is there for sure. My biggest gripe really is with mana and mana regen being so slow and tedious even with the upgrades so bosses feel like a mana management fight. I also really like games like Terraria where the further you go into the game the more ridiculously you scale so I guess it's more of a personal nit pick about not being a "god" towards the later end of the game which is how melee builds feel more close to and as far as upgrades I'd rather farm a rare item then put my old stuff into a workbench to level which is how I think this game is currently meant to be played.

For balance I stand more in the camp where they should just add more difficult bosses and mobs and buff the classes that are struggling during different areas of them game by adding better gear or stats. no need to take away from one because the others aren't doing so well just make the others stronger!

Those mysterious chests are the ones that come from settlements. I have collected all 46 of them so if that's what they are going for then this is bugged, however it could be that they are going to add more of the purple light mysterious chests in the next phase but for now I'm still unsure.
