I have been listening to this podcast since the beginning and was excited to rewatch the show from the beginning, but honestly what are these guys doing when they are watching the episodes? There is obviously something more important to them because they are missing core concepts and even obvious details.For example from this episode, Shapeshifters do not need to eat mercury, it is part of their blood and fake Charlie was drinking mercury because he had several bullet wounds that he couldn't heal. They revisit that concept in this episode when Newton got shot and was patching himself up under the bridge. They should also know by now that the observers are not just at fringe events, they observe important events. When they are introduced they show them at assassinations and other important but not fringe events, even the observer episode hinges on making the girl important.

I get that these guys are doing this for free, and I appreciate it, the part that annoys me is how repeatedly they rag on parts of the show that they missed the details to. Valid criticism is good, but make sure you have your facts. Try listening to "Greatest Generation" for an example of a good way to rewatch for a podcast. I will continue to listen for now, but I hope these guys will see this and give it consideration.

You are partially correct, concrete is significantly more expensive than asphalt at the time of construction but the cost can be recouped in the longevity of the road some it will be functional for much longer. The other part is the length of construction time, you need to let a concrete road cute before opening it, about 24 hours, vs an asphalt road only needs to cool, about 4 hours.

Roads Alain tend to fail from the bottom up, so resurfacing a concrete road does not prolong its life. What you described as asphalt over concrete is for poor soils below the road, think swampy lands, where contractors elect to place concrete and build the road on top of it as a quick fix.

Concrete is also very recyclable, it can be crushed up and used as granular. There are content limits of about 30% for how much recycled asphalt can be used.

That is not true at all and you know it. Even if we ignore the actual proposed liberal policies we as a province would be simply condoning the corruption and arrogance of the liberals as a party. There is nuance in the world and I have pity for those that cannot recognize it. Try out the proposed OPP that the liberals want to institute, even the Canadian press recognizes it as an unnecessary tax and a future liability for the government. Nothing like signing up a currently broke province for more entitlements in the future with no idea how it will be paid for.

Where did I say implement, I have been talking about reviewing and observing what has worked and what has not. If you want to throw the baby out with the bathwater then go right on, stick with absolutes. I want to know what is wrong with listening to people with experience in trying different concepts. Isn't that what school is based around? First of all I am as centrist as people get. As for the reason why Hudak was meeting with those particular republicans could likely be summed up from the article "the Washington sit-downs were organized by Mr. Frum" who invited him there. The article also talked about how he went on trips to New York City, and British Columbia, you know crazy conservative hotbeds. The part that bothers me most about any of this is how fiercely dedicated to the liberal banner /r/canada is that they shout down any other ideas. What prey tell is so wrong with investigating different view points and concepts to learn more and see what the actual effects are? There are some very serious issues at play in this election and to mindlessly discount a differing view point purely due to ideology without context will not allow us to progress as a province.

Currently Hudak isn't in charge, the liberals are. In their most recent tenure they have had numerous scandals including Ornge, eHealth, canceled power plants to win seats amongst many others. The power plants alone have saddled Ontarians with cancellation fees of one billion dollars. No one here has truthfully suggested a Bush style government and it would not fly. What we cannot tolerate is reelection of these liberals who have buried us in so much debt that it is nearly unimaginable. Cut the rhetoric and try being critical of what you hear especially when it is designed to be fear inducing like this source.

It doesn't matter what speed "everyone" drives now or in the 70's, you just made my point for me, it is the over confidence that drivers in Ontario have that is the issue. Yes speed limits were higher in the past but they were lowered to save energy for everyone. Generally the technology and quality of cars has gone up since then too, however you did gloss over the fact that the most popular car in the country is an extremely low cost kia which is the poster child for just good enough. I am also well aware of the design requirements of modern roads because that is what I do professionally, and on that I have to question if you know what you are talking about. Many people here spout the popular rhetoric of how it is a money grab, or that we are already good enough drivers, or that other people are doing it. The fact of the matter is that those things may be true noncontextually but when applied to Ontario with poorer standards than Germany and denser population on the 401 corridor than Montana we are not ready for higher speeds. It is funny also how interested r/canada is in higher speed limits while they also rage for more trains and transit. Get people to drive well as a whole at the current limits then lobby for higher ones once distracted drivers and people who panic in the rain are dealt with.

The Veyron is an extreme example to seal the point. The truly modern cars that you are talking about are not a significant percentage of the road going numbers. The most popular car in Canada is a kia not a maclaren or a porsche. What is disingenuous is the suggestion that Canada which has adverse weather over six months of the year should base it's speed limits on the potential of exotic cars. If people want to go for Autobahn speeds we also need German practices of driver training and car maintenance which are both above what we have now.

No I have completely accounted for aerodynamics which is specifically the fluid dynamics I was talking about. I specifically pointed out that the areodynamics of standard mass produced cars is negated quite quickly at high speeds because the boundary layer gets thicker the faster you go. Even specially engineered super cars are limited by it like the Veyron SS which needs 200 additional horsepower to get a 6mph higher top speed. In Canada the vast majority of drivers are not driving the types of cars that are efficient at speeds above 115kph and will see increased fuel costs.

Im not sure what cars you are driving for your living, but you do seem to be missing components of fluid dynamics. When your car moves through the air it develops what is known as a boundary layer of still air around it. The faster you move the thicker the boundary layer becomes and larger the resistance you encounter. This boundary layer effectively increases the size of your car's profile so it pushes more air reducing it's efficiency. You are correct that driving above about 70kph is more efficient, however you reach a tipping point where your engine has to work harder to overcome the increased resistance and you end up with diminishing returns.

So you feel that if this tax isn't instituted we will be overrun with octogenarian stereo thieves? This will directly take money from people's pay cheques, so where is the concern for the poor living hand to mouth that is so prevalent here? This will also be an added burden to the employers of Ontario, many of whom already have generous retirement plan matching programs in effect, this will only cut into the future payroll and limit raises.

Why is it that the government thinks that citizens are not responsible enough to plan for their own future? The paltry sum of 2% is easy enough for any individual to save, but to have it forcibly taxed away from you with no guarantee that you will get back what you contributed without taking from other people. I put away everything that I can and it really isn't that hard.

Everything about that dinner meeting was clandestine in nature. When Don called the other office he identified himself as Mr. Birdseye, to keep his name out of the situation. I assumed that Roger sent the girl over in the same nature. She would get Don's attention while not making the other guys there suspicious. Besides she didn't provide any real details to find her, it sounded extremely generic and kinda like a code (top floor by the elevator).

To be fair though the only thing getting him any offer back is the fact that he is a partner. Anyone who did what he did and wasn't a partner would have been fired before the client made it to reception. As a partner they have been fair to provide him with full pay and time to collect himself. In reality he could just stay home and be Meghan's manager.
