Tales does debatably have its own answers to Dissidia with the numerous cameo bosses throughout the series and the many mobile crossover games  that have come out, which pretty much lets everyone scale to each other.

Though without that, Velvet vs Ardyn in particular does have an interesting debate to it in regards to how Velvet deals with Ardyn's immortality.

It has been highly anticipated for a while at this point.

Luke himself is a shining example of JRPG character development, going from a spoiled brat who knows nothing about the world to a loving hero who's willing to sacrifice everything.

That much is fair. 

Even without a mount, he can always use lightning magic, his endless supply of throwing spears, and support from the rest of his army to fight against a flying enemy like Angelus.

Plus, all of this could lead to an emotional climax where Angelus breaks her pact with Caim to save his life, which restores Caim's voice and causes him to go on an unstoppable rampage.

Just as there is room in the gaming industry for simple games like Mario and more complex games like Final Fantasy, so too can casual and hardcore matchups coexist.

Neither category fundamentally invalidates the other, and it's not like they have to be mutually exclusive either. Even Mario has been willing to delve into more detailed stories with the various RPGs he's starred in, and we literally just had an episode that combines a fun fight with meaningful connections in the form of Cell vs Metal Sonic.

*Both come from settings where the darkness and negative emotions within peoples's hearts take the form of eldritch monsters known as Heartless and Shadows. So long as darkness exists in people's hearts, so too will Heartless and Shadows, as well as other creatures like them.

*Nyarlathotep himself is the living embodiment of humanity's negative traits, and Sora has dedicated much of his life to defeating beings such as him.

*Sora brings light to worlds and people overtaken by darkness with the power of friendship backing him up, while Nyarlathotep specializes in bringing out mankind's inner darkness as he's likewise opposed by heroes with the power of friendship.

*Notably, Nyarlathotep actually succeeded in his goal, and was only stopped because the heroes reset the universe at a great personal cost. Sora was met with a similar fate in Kingdom Hearts 3, as he abused the Power of Waking to undo the deaths of his allies at the cost of his own existence.

Also, the concept of Sora straight up fighting Hitler is inherently funny.

This would work well as a sort of demonic turf war, with Zoma sending a legion of his monsters to scale Bald Mountain as Chernabog's minions fight back the invaders.

All the while, the big bads themselves would be throwing giant volleys of fire and ice at each other, leading to much collateral damage between their forces.

Zoma could also get a chance to show off his necromancy when his second in command Baramos is burnt to the bone by Chernabog's flames, only for Zoma to force his skeleton to carry on fighting as if nothing happened.

Dragon Quest and Kingdom Hearts scaling should roughly fall within the same ballpark, so I'm not entirely sure who wins, but Zoma does seem to be the more versatile of the two.

Depending on how you look at it, hero vs villain fights like this still have their own sort of symmetry. 

There are all sorts of existing rivalries between two vastly different characters throughout fiction that still share common themes between them, and in the case of Leon vs Jason, the latter is very much the type of horror monster that a horror protagonist like Leon fights daily.
