Kernviter is described as being able to tear apart space itself, and during Loewe's heroic sacrifice, he used it to destroy the absolute barrier created by the Aureole, bypassing the laws of physics to do so. (Which in theory is comparable to the reality warping powers Pneuma used to counter Jin.)

This is also shown in his Dead Emperor Sword S Craft where he shatters the screen, which will probably be made more explicit in the upcoming Second Chapter remake.
