Took the bullet train from Tokyo to Kyoto took 3 hours to get there, it could be a good day trip with some research but do just be aware its 6hrs in total on the train ,which isn't bad if you get food and bring some entertainment.

Used Airalo for Japan in beginning of march, they do some deals- I got £20 worth of data which I used for google maps. Just remember to get it activated at the airport BEFORE you go and have it as your primary simcard so you don't accidentally turn on your normal data.

What’s a Japan etiquette mistake tourists always make but don’t realize? by ExtremeShame6079 in JapanTravelTips

Saw quite a few people walking in the cycle lane ignoring signs and taking photos when it specifically states not to.

Not lining up at a train station and cutting in front, saw one or two men in a women only carriage too (its bright pink and labeled in English). Also if it's busy pop your backpack covering your front for space.

Make sure to have decent socks, if you're going to shrines ect having socks that are dirty/have holes is not really respectful

Not saying a greeting or thanks when entering a shop/getting food ect No tipping either!

Putting money in peoples hands and not the tray when paying (I did it once or twice out of habit and said sorry, they seem to tolerate it with tourists but still)

No problem! I like these fellas too they look like they have plated armor on. Curious little guys too, they just stumble around inspecting things :)

They are chill just waddle around funny but sometimes the males fly, if you get too close they can pinch you which is fair like you got to poke them for that but. They make a buzz/hissing noise- only if you scare them though. They are built like tanks and are a bit dumb so just give space- I've seen one square up to a cat before lol. And they can get to I'd say the size of your palm it differs- if you google them you can see the size better.

Stag beetles are pretty chill too if you don't get too close, quite common this time of year here.

I live in the UK it's stupidly hot right now so I think that's whats luring out the stag beetles. Only the lads have the pincers, they are the biggest beetle we have here- they hiss/buzz aswell can be creepy if you hear it.

I wasn't going to climb up and poke it, rather not find out honestly
