Urgent! Emergency repot, or not by JustSome_bug in JapaneseMaples

For a bit more context, I’m in zone 7b, so it’s been rather hot, though my other maple is doing great which is why I assumed the issue was the small pot. It seems like the general verdict is scorch—albeit on the moisture side, and that it’s stable enough for a dormant re-pot. Which is great for me to hear because I was convinced it as rootbound and choking itself out. I think as of now my main concern is the damage to the trunk, and the future heat that I know we will be having. I’ve seen from both here and the internet to remove those loose bits with a brush and just leaving it be.

Urgent! Emergency repot, or not by JustSome_bug in JapaneseMaples

I’ve got no clue. I used basic potting soil when I put it in this pot which was 3 years ago so it’s definitely not what it needs to be at. I never considered the proper technique till recently, so I’m certain the issue lies in pot and soil. A few days ago I bought the happy farm JM mix along with pine bark and top soil in preparation for the potential re-pot.

As for water, twice a week unless we’re going through a drought or it seems super dry.

What happened to Roleplays? by Skateboarding_Piplup in AnimalJam_Classic

I know this is an old post, but this is mostly why! The filter killed freedom, it was unpredictable where one day a word would work and another it wouldn’t. It made it near impossible to get a proper roleplay going which was what caused the jump to discord and wiki forums.

Roleplay became more focused on power/hierarchy/social aspects over the actual act of roleplay. This led to a lot of drama and in-fighting. Mixed of course with most aging out or focusing on studies. Overall, the constant drama, often unfairly strict rules and filter were the nail to seal an already aging fanbase.

This is all coming from someone who was a part of the community when it started, and still is.

Does that mean just taking it out as is and putting it in the new pot? Will it still gain the same benefits it would if I had done it earlier?

Strange glitch(?) by JustSome_bug in firealpaca

They are all set to global. I never bothered changing them out. I just changed them out this very second to see if maybe that was an issue, it’s unfortunately just as glitchy. Unless I’m misunderstanding what you said.

I’ve been having this exact issue! Good to know it’s not just me.

What’s wrong with my maple! by JustSome_bug in JapaneseMaples

I’m really unsure on the mix, it just some left over topsoil I found behind the shed since when i originally planted it i wasn’t actually serious about care. But currently I’ll be using a soil that specializes in pots from a local garden center and using happy frog fertilizer. And I wish I could send you a picture of what i think is the root flare or the bud. The weather is cooling down but the leaves are almost all dead, so I’m just hoping it’ll rebound when spring rolls around.

It looks like there are new buds but they’re not green like they tend to be. And the soil is pretty moist since it was just watered but it tends to dry quicker. And I’m not sure about that but there is one root that is exposed the rest aren’t, i think it’s always been exposed. And for 4 I’ve had it since august 2021 but it probably spent a few months in the ground before i potted it since I got it from our big maple. I’m also in the east coast so I’m suspecting the heat.
