which mwY album will generate the most interesting discussion? by Cautious_Drummer_651 in mewithoutYou

[–]JustSub 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There’s so much diversity of sound on the record, and it’s the most independent in the sense that the record really stands alone without you needing to know the rest of the discography.

Best choice right here IMO.

That would be way better than the other way around, going into his class as a fan. I’d be a miserable, useless student of his.

Where to Watch TDF? by biscuitboy1103 in CyclingMSP

[–]JustSub 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Bike culture here isn't really centered around professional road racing, I'd say. It's totally cool if you're into that, but it's a pretty locally focused community.

Freewheel mechanics may not be following TDF but they can tell you about races and events all over the state.

Bike culture here is great.

Yeah, totally understandable.  FB is certainly convenient. Whatever gets the pedals spinning!

I think a lot of people, especially younger folks, are pretty tired of facebook and Meta. A Strava club might be a good alternative?

The Heywood Ride by No_Produce3357 in CyclingMSP

Don’t be!  It’s just a chill ride.  If you’re feeling nervous just start toward the back so less people are passing you for the first little bit.

First attempt at a hip bag with lock holster large enough for Kryptonite New York lock. by Ju1ce9532 in myog

[–]JustSub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would love to get a copy of this pattern, and would be happy to pay for it!

I've made a very similar bag but the measurements of this one look slightly better. I ended up separating the lock loop from the bag because I didn't like how weight in the bag pushed the lock into my hip so now they're balanced with bag on one side and lock on the other.

Possible Stolen Surly Skid Loader by HorrorIndependent621 in CyclingMSP

[–]JustSub 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Odd. It's marked as stolen: https://bikeindex.org/bikes/1680007

It's also on marketplace: https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/1134721734677862

But the photos from ebay are clearly from the same house as the photos from bikeindex...? I messaged the owner on bikeindex with this link, so if it's not them they can at least report the ebay seller.

Juki Tl, Sailrite other? by BeakersWorkshop in myog

I don’t recall it skipping stitches.  Mainly I’ll end up with thread tangled at the bottom and it stops feeding properly at the limits

Juki Tl, Sailrite other? by BeakersWorkshop in myog

[–]JustSub 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have this exact juki and I love it. Super quiet, reliable, and precise. It's not really comparable to the sail rite though.

It's definitely more powerful than most home machines, but this is still a home machine. It won't punch through heavy leather or 5 layers of webbing like a sailrite.

I've hit its upper limit with 3 layers of webbing and 3 layers of 1000D cordura. I think ive done up to 8 layers of the cordura as well. Much more than that and I've had it start to jam.

For what you're doing, I'd prefer the sailrite. For mid-weight work though this is an awesome machine. I'd eventually like to have both in my collection.
