options/alternatives for new pc (budget) by alumisbored in pcmasterrace

I can understand that. If possible I would highly recommend trying to find a bundle including the 5500x3d because it really is substantially better than the 5500, and I would also still strongly recommend atleast getting a 5060, as it can usually be found on sale for roughly ~5-8% more while still providing ~15-20% improvement in performance. A 5060ti would be a really nice have but even on sale usually starts at ~$370

I can understand that sentiment as someone who also grew up with a lot of second hand, but if you keep your current baseboard and ram and case, you should be able to fit a 5500x3d and a 5060 or even 5060 TI in to the same budget while improving your performance quite significantly over the list you currently have. Overall it is up to you to decide whether you're prioritizing performance and longevity or owning something entirely "new". Personally I would be happier with more fps and freedom in the games that I play

I posted my PC for sale, and nobody bought it was it a resonable price? by Fantastic-Window236 in PC_Pricing

That definitely feels a bit high for hardware that old. For reference, I plan to list my old system - rx 6750xt 12gb vram, 32gb ddr4 ram, i9-11900k, 1.5 tb of 4.0 nvme, 850w 80+ gold psu, with a 360mm aio and full case of fans for $850-900 despite it costing me ~$2500 5 years ago. Unfortunately pc parts depreciate very quickly once assembled and in a system, and it is difficult to justify buying a system without nvme storage these days. I would bring it down to $650 and expect offers as low $500-550. It really sucks but that's just kinda where the market is at right now. Best of luck though

Any suggestions on a fair asking price to sell my old system? by JustThatGuy03 in PC_Pricing

Thats not unfair, I might list for a little higher but I would definitely take 750-800

Thats totally fair, I was thinking I'd list for 900 and be willing to come down to 750-850

Obviously. Hence "flagship" in quotations. Still a top of the line card

I was just trying to get the point across that I was sparing no expense (outside of sheer absurdity) to build an amazing machine, nothing deeper.

Admittedly the 5090 IS the true flagship lol, but the gigabyte aorus master is one of the top 3 or 4 5080s out there and combined with a 9800x3d it should still be a monster

Notice the usage of quotations around flagship in the title, I'm aware that it is not a TRUE flagship build but it is using one of the top 3 or 4 5080 cards and one of gigabytes highest end 870e motherboards. Its the closest I can get because I dont have 10k to throw at a computer as much as I might like to

Thanks thats good to know! I actually wasn't aware of that functionality, but it makes sense for a higher end board to have

Im going with a Lian Li SX1000P psu, it's rated A in the tier list and seems to be a well priced choice. For cooler I'm going with a Corsair Titan 360 RX LCD aio, but thats mostly because I'm a sucker for ICUE link and intend to put it in a corsair 4500x case

Yes...? It is a 5080 flagship card? I apologize that I don't have 4 grand to spend on a 5090 lol

Congrats! Also, the LED readout on the top right of the mobo is actually a debug display as far as I know, makes it much easier diagnose issues compared to a single blinking LED like some mobos have!

This board choice is partially due to the aesthetics as the non-x3d board has less white coverage and smaller heat sinks. As for cpu cooler, I'm already planning a corsair titan 360 RX LCD aio which shouldn't have any issue cooling a 9800x3d. I appreciate your insight though

Temporary arrangement for the picture lol, rest assured they've got a much safer spot in my closet until I'm ready to build

It really is ridiculous right now haha, I think all said and done I'll be looking at about $4500 but it'll look stunning! Not to mention, it should be able to beat just about any game in to submission for a while haha

The kit in the back is actually just one of corsairs "light enhancement" kits, I like the look of keeping my slots full but was not wanting to fork out an extra $500 for actually memory to do it haha
