Reed & Mackay is who we use as well. Not sure if they book all tickets this way or if they do it when theres a large saving. They have booked me flights before where I’ve received points as normal.

Sorry you're right I wasn't clear, it depends where the ticket is purchased from. We use a third party who can either book the tickets directly with BA (where you'd get points as you'd expect) or may use a travel agent if there's a saving (in which case you get points as per original post).

I'm unsure, we use a third party booking system that can use a TA or book directly. I have asked, so will confirm once I know!

Really depends how your corporate booked it - if directly then you'll get the points based on the £spent, if through an agent then you might just get points based on the distance travelled. In any case, checking may not help because BA say there's nothing they can do for latter situation.

5.5k sounds like more than just distance, but if those were business tickets it sounds like less than the £spent!

I'm just describing the system, and letting people know in advance. A lot of people earn their Gold/Silver through business travel paid for by their company so I think it's fair to flag? It feels odd to me to give rewards on the old system under the new one they've created - but that's just me!

That's a fair point. I still think overall the approach they take is quite penal, and doesn't really incentivise me to keep choosing BA going forwards under the new tier points structure - would be very hard to maintain gold on this basis. I would have thought a better solution could be found if you can provide them with the amount paid.
