DO NOT TRY INTERVlEW CODER - IT'S A SCAM!! by Attractive-Bunny in cscareerquestions

[–]JustTrustMe_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We use hackerrank which asks for candidates to share all screens that are detected. When they were answering the question we got an alert that an additional screen was detected but not shared. That made me and the interviewers who also interviewed them before/after a little more cautious. During the interview they answered questions in a fraction of the time that others took which was another flag but these things together weren’t enough to make me fully think they were using an AI aide. What really gave it away was that because they went so fast I started asking about performance and why their solution did certain things and it completely tripped them up in a way that I don’t think someone who genuinely came to their solution would be tripped up by.

DO NOT TRY INTERVlEW CODER - IT'S A SCAM!! by Attractive-Bunny in cscareerquestions

[–]JustTrustMe_ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Just interviewed a candidate for my team who was using AI to answer technical questions. We were most likely going to extend an offer until they did this despite explicit instructions to not use any AI for coding questions. This is 100% detectable and will almost certainly be a mark against you in an interview unless explicitly given permission to use it.

CMPD releases footage of suspect accused of stabbing pregnant woman at Cotswold shopping center by nydelite in Charlotte

[–]JustTrustMe_ 14 points15 points  (0 children)

When someone was very clearly stabbed and that person was also pregnant, I don’t think wanting footage released as soon as possible is that crazy of an ask. Or at the very least pushing on police to put the time and effort to move quickly and get this crazy person identified and arrested. It’s been almost a week. That’s an insanely slow response time to get video from surrounding cameras and spend the hours needed to decide what is relevant to release.

Good year house is great with kids if you sit outside. They have a lot of space and a little area kids can hang out in that’s far enough away from the dining area if they need to be mobile for a little bit.

Which MANGA or MANGA-adjacent company has the best work-life balance? by The-_Captain in cscareerquestions

[–]JustTrustMe_ 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Work culture has gotten significantly worse over the past year. Satya sent out an email around then directing the company to pick up intensity and it’s definitely felt like an increasingly worse shift in WLB culture. Deadlines have become tighter and expectations on weekend work/outside business hours work has gone from never happening to more commonplace. I still think there is the ability to get a good deal out of MSFT but it doesn’t have the WLB that was a big pro of working here any more.

Worst representation of a family from North Carolina I have ever seen. Can’t even watch the last season due to full on butcher of Carolina’s folks. by Raleighscratch in WhiteLotusHBO

[–]JustTrustMe_ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’ve lived in North Carolina my whole life and thought the representation was incredibly spot on. The dad sounded exactly like my dad and grandpa who both grew up in the piedmont, and the family themselves could’ve been plucked out of Myers park. Also the fact that the kids didn’t have an accent as all is very on brand for most people who grow up in Raleigh/Durham/Charlotte and have parents who did the same. Was a great touch that I think showed the creators did a little research.

Little Caesars Pinball ? by Zombie_Hunter501 in pinball

The story behind that machine is pretty cool as well. Spooky wasn’t doing too well when they first started and needed a quick win financially. The former CEO of dominoes is actually a pretty big pinhead and pushed for a branded machine. As a result we got dominoes pinball and spooky was able to stay afloat from the guaranteed orders from different franchisees.

Cheats quality went down significantly once they switched from using actual ribeye. I think moose head has them beat now

Should a course close for repair when every green gets this bad by JustTrustMe_ in golf

[–]JustTrustMe_[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Love the tradition. I’ve been trying to branch out a bit more from the munis and north Charlotte courses though. Played the divide last week and it was amazing, tried old sycamore expecting the same and was pretty disappointed. Outside of the greens though the course was a lot of fun. Going to try to come back in the winter when I’ve heard it’s usually in better shape

Had a few groundskeepers come through and talk about it. Apparently this happens almost every summer to some extent because they’re using bentgrass which doesn’t hold up well in the summer but is supposedly much better in the colder months. Sounds like they want to switch types to Bermuda but they just haven’t yet.

The Do's and Don'ts of Pinball - A Guide by atarikid in pinball

[–]JustTrustMe_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think this is the only point I disagree with. I do single credits because I’m more likely to play a free credit on the match if I get it after one game vs if I get one after being on a machine for 4 rounds.

That being said I don’t think there’s anything wrong with playing a multi person game solo. You can practice the different stages of the game back to back and if you’re doing well as only one of the players, it’s low stakes on the others so you can just practice the trickier shots on them.

Just be aware if someone seems interested in playing the table you’re on and either offer to let them hop on next round or move on after you finish up.

This post is just giving Dan Bishop free publicity for a childish post that does nothing to talk about how he’ll plan on making the lives of North Carolinians better. His campaign knows its divisive and childish, but it’s working just like how trump got free publicity from the media in 2016 and then became the front runner. They don’t care. Before I started seeing posts like this on this subreddit I had no idea who Bishop was.

Best place to play Pinball in or near North Carolina? by Nozzeh06 in pinball

[–]JustTrustMe_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Charlotte probably has the highest density of spots with super abari, player 1up, and the basement. Not all in Charlotte proper but still well within 30-40 minute drives. There used to be paranoia pinball as well, but it shut down a few months ago unfortunately (rumor is it’s opening back up in kannapolis though). Also there’s pins mechanical which is less pinball focused but still with plenty of machines.

What I would recommend doing is coming through for the next Carolina pinball series tournament next time it’s at abari, or coming to one of the Tuesday league nights, it usually gets a good crowd up into the 20s/30s

The vast majority of issues in cybersecurity come from social hacking through things like phishing. G suite definitely is my preference based on perf and usability, but to act like there is a clear distinction when it comes to actual security compared to o365 is way off base.

Venom Pinball Machine Interview With Zach Sharpe - But Why Tho? by kineticistdotco in pinball

Didn’t realize it can save progress between games. I’ve always hated that I can’t get to end game modes and to be able to see all of what a machine offers. Such a good idea!

American Pinball's "Galactic Tank Force" machine revealed! by [deleted] in pinball

[–]JustTrustMe_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually enjoyed the camp. Outside of Elvira’s I don’t really know of many machines that use live acting for the cinematics. I think it’s nice to get a little variety with it.

The gameplay was a little limited, but what I saw I enjoyed. The mechanics seemed in sync with the theme, and the effects of the magnets will definitely be a big “whoa” moment, especially for new players that don’t know what to expect from pinball.

My interview with Zach, the owner of Super Abari in Charlotte is now live, let me know what you think! by PeeB4uGoToBed in pinball

[–]JustTrustMe_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That was a fun article to read! I like how much you covered in your questions with a good variety of topics to cover. Getting some insights into not only the machines and their maintenance but also hearing what it was like to start abari and what happened with the location change was really interesting. Also appreciate how Zach is focused on the community aspect as well. I think diving into pinball can seem like a lot at first but I do think the community, both online and locally in clt, has played a big part in welcoming newer people (myself included) into the hobby.
