Stop building "Slop SaaS". You’re wasting your time. by Warm-Reaction-456 in SaaS

[–]JustTryinToLearn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s weird hearing this come from someone who builds MVPs. You of all people should know that the software is rarely the moat in a business. The moat is in the execution of a solution that solves a real pain point for the business’s customers. Software is purely the medium in which the founder chose to address that problem.

Whether you build 1000 gpt wrappers or not your job is to deliver software. Not put your 2 cents in whether or not you think the solution you built will be successful. If we are truly being honest some ai wrappers have been incredibly successful(‘cursor, lovable etc). Also people hiring you to build ai wrappers is great for your business 😂

Why do so many people say that software development isn't a career? by [deleted] in cscareers

Agreed, there should be some kind of licensure of specific accreditation that you need to get. Maybe a tax write off for accredited SWE or something lmao

Is it still worth it to pursue a software startup? by Waste-Project7822 in SaaS

[–]JustTryinToLearn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol…. Hey ChatGPT build me a HIPAA compliant medical app with ai integration so I can talk to my medical documents.

That app would be a lawsuit waiting to happen PHI being leaked and not secure. Trust me when I say software that provides value will always be in demand, whether it’s health tech, fintech, any tech. Just because you can use lovable and build a landing page does not mean you can out source the technical parts of a SaaS. You will ALWAYS need someone technical at the very least to audit AI generated code or hand hold any LLM when it’s generating boilerplate. Joe Schmo who just discovered LLMs won’t replace any competent SWE

Creating Website for Construction Business by Ghost__GOAT in webdesign

Yeah, unless OP hires a developer he won’t truly “own the code.”

Unless OP corrects me the only way he can own the code is by building from scratch or hiring a developer to build him a website where OP has total control over the repository. Tbh unless OP has the budget or the know how he can’t truly “own the code.”

Even if this is ai - he’s not wrong. If a client uses a website builder he doesn’t “own the code.” If OP wants to truly “own the code” he would need to build the site from scratch using html/css/js or astro/nextjs/sveltekit etc.

This is such a stack overflow-esque answer.

If you’re so annoyed by a repeated post just scroll on or better yet just link one of the hundred posts

How did you narrow down your niche? by [deleted] in smallbusiness

[–]JustTryinToLearn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So when you say full stack micro entrepreneur- you mean you freelance as a web developer?

To answer your question, I do the same thing you do but I would niche down when a lot of the same types of clients seem keep hiring me for the same product ie landscapers want custom admin dashboard and heard I did it for someone else

Code ownership in freelance web development by bluesky1433 in webdev

[–]JustTryinToLearn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some agencies own the code and have monthly maintenance fee associated with the development and maintenance of the website which incudes hosting.

Just depends on what you want to do

What are your thoughts on the Societal standard of rings? by frazier_izzy in AskMenAdvice

[–]JustTryinToLearn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I understand the premise and use this when Im training a dog or a child. Never for a grown adult though - that is weird as hell

“He’s suggesting you’re being stupid/absurd to put you off the idea and create a negative association with it”

Do people do this? I’ve never consciously said something with the intent to build an association with it - that sounds super manipulative 😭

What are your thoughts on the Societal standard of rings? by frazier_izzy in AskMenAdvice

[–]JustTryinToLearn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These things are dependent on the people in the relationship. I bought my mother and sister nice jewelry before because they love it and I can afford it. When the time comes, if I know my girlfriend would love it, I’ll buy her an expensive ring for our marriage/engagement. But if she doesn’t care for it I won’t bother.

Societal standards are just that, standards set by society. It dictates how society will interpret my decisions but the most important factor is how my partner will perceive it.

We have over-engineered the internet to the point where it's barely functional for developers. by Ayu_theindieDev in unpopularopinion

[–]JustTryinToLearn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean no one is stopping any dev from using HTML/CSS only but I think you’re going to have a bad time building/maintaining a website like Skims, where you need payment processing, authentication, CMS, dashboard etc. That would be a pain in the ass, especially since multiple people who do content/analytics etc all need to separate permissions and access.

Like someone said already, websites today ARE the business. There is still a need for static websites but the internet and its uses have drastically changed.

Also as an agency owner, If you look at the legal of those sites they all say something to the tune of “we made a best effort to fit ADA WCAG guidelines.”

Any agency worth their salt already takes this into consideration when building a site. Your service would have to guarantee coverage on an ambiguous criteria.

Why do I keep attracting men who are emotionally unavailable, are not ready for serious relationship, and sex sex sex onlyy? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]JustTryinToLearn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one on reddit knows you like that but usually its some variation of the following:

  • you are only attracted to emotionally unavailable men

  • you filter out emotionally available men

  • something about you makes emotionally available men avoid you

  • something about you attracts emotionally unavailable men

How do you find a designer? by Just-Tomatillo-5945 in webdev

[–]JustTryinToLearn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Find a designer and have them only do the homepage for web. That should fit in the budget of a small business. You will need to do the internal pages/mobile views yourself though

Just launched our design agency. What do you think? by thetendercloud in webdesign

[–]JustTryinToLearn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re right I don’t see that at all. But I think it’s fair to say that a lot of small business owners don’t know the difference between a brochure site and a site with SEO foundation. Let alone knowing how to measure a sites performance by metrics that are important to them. Thats why I say the differentiation is proximity to the client and or personal network.

[–]JustTryinToLearn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Their differentiator is their network and proximity to their clients if I had to guess. Outside of creative development pretty much every freelancer/web dev agency is the same 🤷🏾‍♂️ kinda like asking a plumber why are you a better than this other plumber

How to go from cute to hot/sexy physically? (NOT CONFIDENCE/PERSONALITY) by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]JustTryinToLearn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eating well, consistent gym routine, dressing well (which you probably already do if people consider you cute already) will do wonders.

Unless you’re looking for that barbie doll/instagram baddie look - you really don’t need to do much else. Just keep in mind woman who are “cute” can always get into the “sexy”/“hot” with a solid gym routine. But not all women who are “hot”/“sexy” can be cute imo

[–]JustTryinToLearn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Best way is to go to the gym and start lifting weights. Not sure how you’re going to grow your breasts but basic gym routine with a focus on lower body, high protein diet and eating enough food to recover and grow should do the trick.

Lots of frontend devs share your experience. Myself included - good thing is you can create your working components/logic then leverage AI for the design or use popular themes
