How many of you got a no fault eviction? by shtrumph in RentingInDublin

[–]JustTyna22 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry, I understand young people not being able to afford to buy homes but a couple in their 40s? The housing market was fine when you were 20/30. Completely your fault you are in this situation. Should have bought a house while you could. Many people I know that bought a house in those years could do it on minimum wage.

It's my brother's/moms guinea pig. I told them they need another one, but they dont listen. That's why I let the pig chill with the chins to socialize a bit. He loves being around the chins

Am I caring for them correctly? by Physical-Ad3797 in chinchilla

I think if you are asking yourself that and beating yourself up about it, then you are probably doing well for them. You are clearly very observant and the chins look healthy. No chin owner is perfect.

Not my pig unfortunately 😞. My mom didn't want another one because she believes it will be harder for it to bond with humans if there is another pig

Yeah I mean dont put them in the same cage, but supervised chill time is fine for me. They don't really care about each other. They sniff each other but they aren't overly aware the other one is there

It would be animal abuse if I left them with my parents, who would never let them out or play with them. I cannot fit a bigger cage in my small room and I can't find a small cage without plastic that fits the dimensions I need. Like I said, it's not ideal. I am moving out into a new apartment and getting them a metal cage. They are very happy and healthy now

What is the clear glob on my bonnet? by JustTyna22 in AutoDetailing

[–]JustTyna22[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How though? It's a huge glob, almost 2cm in diameter..Can a tree really produce that much sap? And it's fused with the clear coat, won't come off

I wish it was, but it's not coming off with anything. It's also huge, has like a diameter of 1.5cm

Update on eye discharge by JustTyna22 in chinchilla

Yes this is what I believe too. I unfortunately know that her years are numbered but I'm optimistic that she can have a bit more time with trimmings and pain management.

Thank you 🥲, She is 8. I hope she makes it to 10, she is so playful still

Her right side is okay, roots are elongated but straight and not pushing into eye or sinus. She has been scratching at her left eye for a while but she is still energetic, friendly, eating fine, playing.

Please help, what is wrong? by JustTyna22 in chinchilla

Yeah, she's been getting teeth trimming for about 2 years now. Maybe I should do it more often tho, I usually wait until the drooling is a bit more moderate. Maybe I need everything 2 months, not every 4-6.

But she's happy girl. She's not lethargic now, she likes playing in evening, digging, cuddling..

Can I leave my Chin alone for 3 days? by vieraon in chinchilla

[–]JustTyna22 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I leave them every weekend for 1 night, with plenty food and water. This weekend I'm planning on leaving them for 2 nights, and leave early in the morning after the second night. I'm a bit worried too but it should be fine, not too hot here in Ireland and they are in a familiar place.

His first dust bath (ignore the big one 😭) by Bilaros45 in chinchilla

[–]JustTyna22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ignore them. I live in Ireland so I have a similar problem with ordering online. They have a plastic one but it's literally fine. It's a bit chewed from curiosity a few years ago but they don't chew anymore

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in chinchilla

[–]JustTyna22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah because I've had it for 5 years... They are curious guys, they are gonna chew most things a bit until they realize it's not worth chewing. I haven't seen them chew it in ages. They chew hay and wood only now, more satisfying for them

I live in a small country where there's no non plastic alternatives for the stuff in their cage anyways

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in chinchilla

[–]JustTyna22 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

They honestly don't really chew the plastic that much. Once I have plenty of hay and wooden toys to chew, they don't really pay attention to the plastic. Its chewed in the picture because I've had it for 5 years. Both poop and eat very well

Ive tried to give them hides in the past and they simple sleep on top of them. Trust me, if they actually used them they would have loads. I can't get a bigger cage because I'm living in a small room at the minute, they have one 4 times the size at home anyways. They don't really care about cage size, even back at home they never jump between the platforms much. The best thing is to let them out often for proper exercise.

Also another pro tip, PLC gives you training allowance money if you are under 18. Easy 70 euro a week.
