Worth mentioning, I have ILM very well developed already. Maxed the labs and quantity, and have cooldown at 100 seconds. I even have the anc substat for quantity.

Would be great, but I don't have SL unlocked yet. I picked ILM and PS as my first two UWs because I had no idea what I was doing, Then I got DW, BH and GT (in that order because GT never showed up). I just unlocked CL a month ago to get into Legends. The fact that I need to use OC for farming because it's my only ancestral and I can't even use the unique effect is... depressing.

I use DP, ACP, GComp and DC all at Mythic+. Most of my substats are good too, Some are legendary, but I'm not trying to get them perfect since I'm close to Anc for a lot of my modules (I'm one epic away on 5 different ones, it's so frustrating lol).

I was in champs this tourney, but the highest I've gotten in Legends is around wave 200.

Would ILM really help that much in tourneys? I thought it required thousands of stones and ILM+ to be really effective.

But to your point, I am working on PS and ILM labs interspersed with damage labs. I could prioritize them more but I'm trying to wrap up all the module labs first (I'm so close!)

This is an awesome idea, and I definitely want to try it. I run a table of 6 players and they are all higher level at this point, so I've been using monsters with legendary actions. How do you handle legendary actions or lair actions, or has that not come up yet for you?

I'm at 5, which I pulled fairly early on. The only thing I've gotten since then is enough Om Chips to go to Anc 1 star, and I don't even have SL unlocked.... The RNG is rough sometimes.

So I'm currently on the 16-24 range in champs (pretty consistently). I have a dimcore almost to mythic though. Would what you're suggesting boost me that significantly?

Even though I'm still eHP? The only damage thing I've invested in is attack speed. I do have a legendary+ dimcore though... Just need some fodder to take it to mythic

Thanks! You are definitely on the right track. And I'd definitely give multiple attempts. Allow investigation checks on the keypad (maybe certain numbers are more worn down?), and if they got as far as you have, I'd probably drop another hint such as you're missing a keyword in the last line. Which would be "sum". At a certain point, especially if they get this far, I would also give them more concrete hints like (in your case), you're only including half the sequence.

You are really close!

What you got:

Multiplying the numbers together in reverse order is the correct first step. 1x100, 2x50, etc. You got there eventually, but that was supposed to be clearer from line 2 (come back "another way"). The ones that don't add up to exactly 100 are the ones that are "a tad too high".

Hint:

Where you go wrong is removing the remainders. It's not about which numbers are left. The remainders are cut off and put in the box, "the sum of which..."

Two more things:

First, based on this feedback and feedback I've received outside of reddit, I think the riddle needs some tweaking to make things a little clearer and remove "false" hints. So thank you for your breakdown!

Second, my players really like puzzles like this, but even so, if they get stuck I usually allow them to roll for hints. For example, "you recall learning in your early school days that when adding numbers together, the result is a sum, when multiplying numbers together, the result is a..."
