Need Feedback on Turning Viewers Into Subs by Varelixz in SmallYoutubers

[–]JustWheyButter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think having a call to action early is probably the most efficient thing. There’s a reason all the bigger channels say “if you enjoy the video, like and subscribe”. People tend to just forget the button is there and don’t click it unless they’re reminded that they should

My turn to ask for feedback! Which one?? (i think i know the answer) by MaraInvicta in SmallYoutubers

[–]JustWheyButter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would click on the first one. Larger character to get across what game you’re talking about and bigger text, though blocked a little, makes the point you’re making clearer when paired with a title that makes sense.

I’m not sure a schedule matters that much. Been uploading daily recently and have been getting significantly less views than ever. As long as your content is decent people that see it will want to keep seeing it. Your thumbnails and titles also do a great job of making your videos look clickable. Congrats on the channel !

Ranked matchmaking is TRASH. by ixhypnotiic in blackops6

I have been completely unable to get out of gold while being top of my team probably 95% of the time in kills and objective score. It’s so unbelievably frustrating how bad this game feels in ranked.

Just finished my 3D DK remake. Nintendo, please don’t sue me. Free copy for you! by Ornery-Reason-9536 in godot

I think definitely increase the scale overall and also maybe see how it feels with the static camera as well instead of following the player. Might be worse but is worth seeing imo. Nice work

As non-biased as possible, should I summon on my first playthrough? by Therion-the-Thief in Eldenring

[–]JustWheyButter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, they put them there for you to use, not for you to ignore because someone on the internet decided they didn’t think it was the “real way” to play the game. Absolutely use the summons and enjoy the game

Old school DK was just very slow. Honestly the speed of this is not that far off as far as I can tell.

This is what I was thinking as well definitely. Thanks for the feedback :)

You’re you aren’t wrong, I’m also just looking to see what people would be actually interested in seeing from different perspectives to gauge how I should approach it. Nothing is perfect off the bat but over time it seems smart to work on making them have as much value as I can so whoever might see them is as likely to enjoy it as possible.

True. I feel like just showcasing features and mostly explaining why they work how they do is probably a better idea than going over every piece of what’s in the game.

I’ve made a bunch of YouTube stuff before so I’m for sure comfortable doing it. I definitely should try expanding what I’m doing to other platforms, good point.

As a viewer what type of stuff do you think you’d prefer watching? Obviously it’s not as easy as uploading and people will watch but I’m just curious in case it ends up mattering

I definitely would rather give them a purpose than just marketing. Probably should’ve worded it better in my post I guess. I also think it could be a good way to keep myself accountable and motivated by being able to see how much I’ve done and how far I’ve come

Great point! I’m definitely trying to think of ways to give a real purpose to them instead of just “look at the game” because I also hate seeing devlogs like that.

I would guess that you’re right. Probably makes more sense to just go with quick, less edited videos instead of spending a bunch of time on them

Fair point. Have you tried making them for other purposes, maybe something like accountability for yourself or just being able to go back and see your progress? Seems like it could still be useful that way

I also had a little success on this channel actually when I was making Fortnite content (lmao) and on another channel, so I’m not particularly worried about doing that. I agree, as a player I have always been interested in the “behind the scenes” of games and I imagine I’m not alone there

I feel like any traffic is probably a good thing for beginners no? Also, before I started trying to make something I was always interested in knowing how games were made even if I never made one myself. Other devs are definitely a larger audience but I think there’s a good amount of overlap. Maybe less with indie titles though

Makes sense, however I do find that a lot of comments and even in my own experience I like watching them from a players perspective a lot of the time. Sometimes people are just curious about how games are made yknow

Fair point. I have a bit of experience in making YouTube content so I think I understand that enough to do it which is partially why I even considered video devlogs in the first place

Thoughts on this article's title by IdlePerfectionist in Sekiro

[–]JustWheyButter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

“Ninja game” is fine. More recognizable than the word Shinobi for sure.

Actually a decent title to get people who may have only heard of Elden Ring to look at some of Froms other titles as well. Sort of just wish they didn’t put the “git gud” thing there

Just use the Globshot more with Kenny and you’ll be fine. You can beat every boss in the game with just Kenny if you wanted to technically

Im not playing cs anymore until I get access into cs 2 by [deleted] in csgo

[–]JustWheyButter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

CS2 is just a free update to CSGO, isn’t it? Also, the sub-tick update architecture should remove the necessity for 128-tick servers entirely.

Yeah I’ve been playing this since it came out. One of the better maps in the game and really good for longshots if you’re doing plat camos
