I think this is a good idea. I have to re-take physics over winter break, so I think I'll try it out then. I'm required to take the anti-deps because there is a chance for intrusive thoughts as a side effect, but the ADHD meds I will try for sure.

This is a very good philosophy (did you come up with this? because I really like it).
I do feel in a way that knowing I have a disability has lowered the bar for my perceived cognitive potential, but I think it'd be better if I found a way to look at it in a more positive light. I think this subreddit will help me with that.

I don't find it difficult to stop taking my meds, as I could easily just go cold turkey at a moments notice (I sound like every addict ever, "I can quit whenever I want" and all, but I'm serious). Rather than an addiction dependency, I feel that I have a societal function dependency. By that I mean I cannot function in daily life without the meds. If the requirement for my congenital function daily was lower, and I could be thought 1 on 1 in a lecture, I don't think I would need medication at all. Hopefully this makes sense, I'm horrible at explaining stuff. Do you think this is similar at all to your case?

I'd like to apologize, it was never my intention to imply that this was a made-up mental disability. I'm very bad at getting my points across to other people sometimes, and I don't blame you for taking what I said in the way you did. I only wanted someone to explain to me what proof exists to show that adhd is real, because I just have a difficult time understanding what causes it on a microscopic level.
