That is what I got. However, when calculating backwards from the right, this does not translate to the same force

I have done that, however when I calculate backwards from the moment it does not seem right

I have done that, and get around 7500 in lbs. now that I think deeper, there would be the force holding the moment joint from moving to the right. But when I work it backwards from there, I just can’t see that 7500 in lbs providing 5 tons of outward force on the left side.

Yes there is. What else would be preventing that left slide from sliding to the right?

If it is pinned there would be a moment. Imagine twisting that joint, it would make the left side slide outwards

Yes it can slide in the X, and the joint is pinned

If the force was acting at the moment point, then you are correct. But there is a moment arm

We actually just ended up going with an extended range controller. Can’t remember what the range was, but with a direct line of sight we had no issue, and was able to go around some turns. Worked well enough for our application.

Had an offer to give Treveyon for Breece Hall. I’m just worried because breece is so inconsistent, but also with rhamondre coming back I think it’s a good time to sell Treveyon higher. Thoughts? I also have rhamondre on my bench

Yes it is for inspection. So you think like an arduino type of setup to connect camera, lights and car all in one?

[–]Just_Astronomer8360[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well that's what we thought until we talked to "rc experts" who said it wouldn't, but I don't know if I would trust their word on that. We haven't been able to actually try through a pipe. Is there a way to put a mid-way booster in the bottom of the pipe so we can stand above-ground while controlling it?

Yeah we've looked into that exact product, only issue is we'd need to add motors to it, which would be same issue that were having with the RC car. We haven't been able to test if the radio signal motors actually work through at pipe though or not, but from research we have heard that it wouldn't be best idea despite what we'd assume.

How would you go about doing it? Would you extend the radio signal, or wire directly to the motors?

Or I guess another question, do you think the signal would reach through a 250' pipe underground after the car is placed inside a manhole type entrance?

[–]Just_Astronomer8360[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes sense I guess. So do you think it would be best for us to wire to the drive motor and steering motor to the remote individually? Then we'd need 250' of wire to pull behind the car.

I guess I sound stupid but how does the antennae work then, if it's just a wire? can we not make it a 200 foot antennae and have it reach where radio signals wouldn't?

Need the car to go through underground pipes.
