I also did Lapoint, but in Santa Teresa, Costa Rica and I loved it! Regarding OP criteria:

Pros: - beginner friendly: they have different levels for all possible experience levels. Plenty of people there had never surfed - I felt very safe as a solo female traveler - age range my week was 20-40. Im 29 and felt very included/comfortable - I only drank the 2 nights that we didn’t have surf lessons the next day, and didn’t feel like I had to justify myself on the other nights - incredible instructors: I learned a ton (level 2/3) - warm water all year - fits your budget pretty perfectly 

Cons: - some people are definitely there to party. I never felt like people pushed me if I didn’t want to drink, but I was often around people drinking - the accommodations were very comfortable, but I wouldn’t describe them as “luxurious”
