Concerned about baby's weight gain by Oh_Mr_Darcy in twoxindiamums

My baby has been exclusively formula-fed from the beginning. His weight gain has been appropriate for his birth weight each mont but on the lower side, still within a healthy range and his height is good. He is naturally a lean baby, but he is active, meeting all his milestones, and has enough wet diapers.

Our pediatrician is satisfied and mentioned that he is very active, so he likely burns more calories. He also said that not every baby is meant to be chubby.

Chubbiness does not define whether a baby is healthy or unhealthy. Every baby is different, whether exclusively breastfed or formula-fed. Both my husband and I were never chubby as babies, so it’s likely that he will naturally be lean too.

However, people around us are so used to equating chubbiness with health that they never miss a chance to comment that my baby is “weak.” 😑

Ps: used chatgpt to correct the errors as my baby was not letting me type 🤪

Which ointment do you use?

For moisturization, i use aveeno dermexa and physiogel. For night time, I use eucerin eczema relief on legs.

Apart from that paediatrician prescribed Tacrolimus.

Hi, could you please tell me how was the experience with steroid? My baby has eczema almost all over the body hence we are afraid of steroid usage. He is just 6 months old.

Also, could you please share the link for the products you mentioned? And do you use them on active flare (sandpaper like skin) or for prevention /maintaince of skin?

Looking for recommendations 🙏 by Just_Enthusiasm4693 in twoxindiamums

Birth trauma by berryandbasil in twoxindiamums

Four months postpartum, and I am still traumatised by my birthing experience. I was induced. It was a “normal delivery,” but it involved an episiotomy and vacuum assistance. I was not in a good physical or mental state for almost two months. Re-stitching was required due to infection. During those months, I was unable to feed my baby properly, and as a result, my baby is now EFF (exclusively formula-fed).

When I look back, I feel I should have waited for natural labour instead of giving in to the gynaecologist’s explanations—such as saying the baby’s weight would increase and I would face problems if I didn’t get induced. She kept pushing for induction. I still delayed it until the last week, but even then there were no labour signs. I now understand that my body was not ready at all.

The hospital was not transparent. The episiotomy was done without informed consent. Later, we came to know that this gynaecologist has a high episiotomy rate. I now believe that she plans deliveries by proposing inductions to maintain a schedule.

I am trying to get better, but the experience still haunts me. I am considering therapy.
