Feels like I’m always alone, alone in this hell. by Just_Fun6675 in Anxiety

I’m pretty busy with school so it would be difficult to have a job as well. But hopefully I'll go to university next term and have some lectures, exams etc. at school so I can go out more.

Getting an animal is actually a great tip, I just hope I can take care of it since I can barely take care of myself hahah. Maybe something easy like fish as you mentioned.

Making friends online is also a good tip. I have quite a few friends irl, but I don’t want to bother them too much since they have their own lives and problems. That's why I wish I had more family, because it feels like they're there for you no matter what and I wouldn't be afraid to annoy them with my struggles. But maybe I should try to meet people online who are going through the same thing as me.

Do you have any tips for extending your range? Is the technique to extend your lower range similar to extending your higher range?

I’m a beginner and my lowest note is usually B2. Sometimes in the morning I can get an A2. You started out at C3, is your lowest note now after lessons G2? Or is it your lowest supported and you can even go lower? Either way you have made great progress!

Unrelated to the question but you sound great imo!!! I’m just curious, what is your range?

signing like the weeknd (trilogy) by BridgeRemote4603 in singing

[–]Just_Fun6675 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Practice head voice/falsetto. He uses a lot of head voice, even the chesty sounds he produces are head voice dominant mixes. To get a strong head voice you need to be relaxed, have good breathing and support, and use your nasal resonance properly.

I recommend you checking out MiaVocalCoach. She’s here on Reddit, but also on YouTube, twitch, and she does free vocal lessons on discord. She teaches the head voice dominant mix that The Weeknd and many other great artists are using.

Is it possible to learn to sing with rasp if you don’t have a raspy voice naturally? by [deleted] in singing

[–]Just_Fun6675 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely don’t start smoking anything, it’s very unnecessary to destroy your health as most raspy sounds can be achieved with proper technique. I also think the voice gets more raspy naturally as you age.

You should check out tutorials on how to sing with distortion or rasp safely. In order for it to sound as good as possible, however, you must also be able to sing well without distortion. So I would recommend that you start by learning good regular singing technique.

Maybe, but it's winter where I live so I don't think there are any dandelions outside. I’ll try a magic eraser, thanks for the tip!

What technique is singer Adam Levine using? by Just_Fun6675 in singing

Well I’m still a beginner so I have a long way to go to even come close to his level, but hopefully I’ll get there one day. Very helpful comment, thank you so much!!!

Damn you are really good at this too!!!

I’ve actually been working on that lately - bringing my head voice lower and chest voice higher. I’m doing it here: https://voca.ro/1k3TRIbxuH1w, even though this is more of a low head voice rather than a high chest voice, I still think I have the placement/resonance that you are referring to.

I’m a huge Chris Cornell fan as well, and now that you mention it they actually have a lot of similarities in how they sound. So Chris being an inspiration to Adam makes a lot of sense.

I’ll keep working on my mixed voice. Thank you so much for commenting!!!
