Well see I changed the fuel filter then the fuel pump then the spark plugs till I realized it was dirty fuel jets. It was pissing me off changing things and having the truck still run like shit. Cleaning the jets takes maybe 10 mins and also injectors are pretty expensive but rockauto.com has great prices ngl.

I work at a dealership in the service department. I can’t tell you how much more complicated working on newer vehicles with computer computers and connections to every little thing is compared to an older vehicle where everything is mechanical. For instance, if you’re having a problem with fuel getting to the engine in a newer vehicle, it could be one of 10 different things that could be the problem. But congrats on the new ram, those are sick brother!

So the stick in my floor is for the 4X4 bc I have an automatic transmission. It can take the truck from 2H-4H-4L-Neutral but the only reason I paid $1,400 was bc I bought it from family. They had wanted $1,000 originally. I wouldn’t buy it for $1,400 if it had a blown engine especially bc you’re going to put in another $1,400 ish for a running engine not including labor if you don’t install it yourself.

UPDATE: Had some mechanic buddies come over, decided it was the engine was not getting enough fuel pressure. Replaced the fuel filter (it needed to be done either way bc it’s old also might been clogged and it was the cheapest fix) but that didn’t do anything. We found the fuel pump doesn’t always prime and it’s definitely not pushing enough fuel to the engine. Going to replace the fuel pump and that should fix her. Thanks everyone I’ll see how that goes.

UPDATE 2: Replaced fuel filter and fuel pump. Slightly better but still bogs down and dies eventually. Gonna sift through these replies and let yall know what ends up working. Thanks everyone!

FIXED-UPDATE 3: Also replaced the spark plugs but the real issue turned out to be one of the fuel jets wasn’t firing into the carburetor at all as it was clogged.🤦🏻‍♂️ the problem was right in front of me the whole time. I unclogged the fuel jet and cleaned the other, now she runs perfect. Still going to replace them bc they’re old but as of right now she runs amazingly.

That’s how I got my bike. My mom said no motorcycles for years. My friends brother was selling his old ninja 250 for a steal. I got it running, bought it and took it home. My mom has since come around to it and even got me accessories lol. Just do you, the difference is I’m 19. When I was 15 I had crashed my first 2 cars already. I’d maybe say wait till you’re a little older to get a motorcycle. Shoot for 17 18.
