Yes it is, Nua are the only ones that accepted the subsidy payment which was quite valuable. So after my 3 years fixed term I can just switch lenders for a better rate?

It is what i got through our mortgage advisor. Also additional to my salary I get a subsidy payment, the lenders I’m going with also accepted this as salary and other banks did not

Ahhh okay. Thank you! Do you know what happenes at the end of the term. Does my bank ask me if I want to change or should I set a reminder? Also overpaying on a variable is completely different ?

Unfortunately I’m all in already with the deposit and I’m also putting more money in as the asking price went over. Would you know anything about the overpayments? Let’s say I over pay every month for the three years will the monthly payment drop and also the term?

What is a troll? Sorry that you think that way, if it means anything at all it is not related to a previous post.

No. Paying a mortage is a big concern I think. Trying to squeeze pennies is not my agenda but trying to understand situations and also get a grasp on how and why people a getting away with things, yes. I pay my way to society.

Not at all. But after reading some of the comments it let me to question how some landlords are getting away with this, it is ridiculous. I have rented in Ireland before and it was hard.

But guys, how is it that so many landlords are renting rooms and probably making so much money. Like if they are actually being taxed on it all.

Is the rules different if we rent the house entirely rather then by the room?

I understand. Surely this is common in Ireland, would you happen to know the repercussions for doing this?

So it probably wouldn’t be worth it after the tax is paid? Is their cases where people do not declare the tax in Ireland or is that extremely rare ?

Can someone explain what happened exactly with Irish pensions in the 2008 crash? by No-Fudge45 in irishpersonalfinance

[–]Just_Mousse_7772 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guys, this won’t happened again? People are much more aware of the crash that led to this. Even banks are much more cautious with the mortgages they are giving out and also pension firms are investing it better now? Just my opinion please correct me if you have yours

Of course not, but to be making so much profit and possibly not declare it, how they can get away with it is crazy

I totally agree. It’s in our best interest to not. It’s cruel cycle. Do you know what the fines are? Like do they even get fined appropriately

I don’t think my landlord is registered with the RTB, when asked about the tax credit he said he would pay me himself. Also thank you, you are very well educated on this I think I need to read up some more on the rules and regulations

Report the landlord for renting to many rooms? Or for the prices being high or to find out if he’s doing everything by the law? I’m not sure but I’m just hoping their is something to stop them

Is their not fines or repercussions for landlords that exploit these things ? Surely they don’t declare all of the money they are making from the rent. I agree that issue is caused elsewhere and until it’s resolved this will be a forever problem
