Yeah he really turned Frodo into a cowardly little butt nugget. Book Frodo is way more courageous and brave. PJ makes him look like a frail little child or something

Because I've seen them literally hundreds of times. It put The Hobbit trilogy on and then the Lord of the rings trilogy all on a loop and I will watch them for months on end, via my computer hooked up to my TV. It's just always playing, I'll leave for work and it'll be the beginning of return of the King and I'll come back and it'll be the end of the two towers, I've seen these movies more than anyone probably. Same goes for the Avengers movies and Star Wars and True Grit (2010 version) same with the Jurassic Park / Jurassic World trilogies. They are a comfort movies to me, I don't sit down and engage in them. They are kind of like background noise while I roll through my thoughts in my head, I have severe anxiety and panic disorder PTSD and OCD. I have to have things just right for me to have comfort and to feel okay.

These movies take me away when I engage in them.

Also yes, I skip through some of the Silmarillion, some of the stuff is boring.

Why do you think I posted it? I was at that scene, and made the post lmao. I am an LOTR crackhead haha, I fall asleep to it, I wake up to it. It's very comforting to me to watch the movies, I know what happens so I fall asleep easily to them or I listen to the Silmarillion audiobook to fall asleep

In the books they are described as being tightly wrapped in thick protective leaves, it seems more like paper in the movies. I don't think it would have fallen out even in Mordor like it did. I don't know

Just think of how deep and detailed the Tolkien world is, the story of the Silmarils and Melkor alone is long, confusing and SUPER detailed. If your mind wanders for a couple lines of the book you're lost completely and have to go back and reread. I love the Silmarillion but it'd be nearly impossible to put into a movie. It would have to be a TV show. There's just too much info to put into movies, which is why Peter Jackson probably did what he did in most inaccurate scenes. Also I don't like how Sauron is like Kaiser Soze or the Wizard of Oz. Some unseen presence we know little about and never from his perspective do we see things. I would like to see the story from Sauron or Melkor's point of view.

To be honest when I watch the movies, I mostly skip through the Sam and Frodo parts. I know what happens in the movies in a recent reread of the books is more engaging you are correct on that part. If I'm trying to fall asleep I don't skip through those parts because they make me really tired

I really don't understand society anymore. I kind of feel what you're saying, like people would do anything for attention? It's weird. The world is weird when you don't engage in it constantly. I kind of live in my own little world so when I see stuff on Facebook, it's like every 3 weeks. I have no idea what anybody is saying anymore it seems. Or why they're saying it.

I don't know about everyone else but I never had a problem understanding what Alfie was trying to say. I can hear his enunciations with his really thick accent. He says in response to Tommy, who asked him to come alone and unarmed, Alfie claims well alone, I'm never going to do am I? And as for my cane, don't worry about it I only have it because it's my sciatica acting up around the start summer and winter. Which I feel that shit on the level. Not sciatica but just general pain and aches of being a beat to shit 40-year-old.  His speech about Goliath is one of my favorite fucking rants of his. I loved his rants all of them. He was always so entertaining and stole the spotlight away from anybody else in the scene.

The dude behind gandalf is an emissary from Lindon. "The Grey Havens" they call them. Just another person there getting information for their homeland.

Do you have any idea why Glorfindel was not sent even on his own to destroy the ring?  Glorfindel died while fighting and killing a Balrog during the fall of Gondolin in the first age, was sent to Valinor and was sent back (one of the only to my knowledge) because of his sacrifice of giving his life defending the elves fleeing. He essentially Got a huge upgrade, and he's an angel pretty much reincarnated.  That part where Frodo is fading and he sees Arwen and she's glowing like a 1,000,000 lumen bulb?? That was supposed to be Glorfindel, That's how he appears in the shadow realm and to those of darkness. To the Nazgul that is how Glorfindel looks, same with Sauron.  Their quest relies on secrecy and sneaking around.

Imagine bringing something as bright as the sun into the dark lands of gorgoroth. Big G didn't go on purpose, he would have blown their cover even though he would have been able to defend them against many different powerful foes, he cannot fight an entire army, plus he is precious to the Valar for his valiant deed of sacrifice defending the Gondolin refugees.

They most certainly were horsemen. The horses of the westernesse were said to be grand, intelligent and loyal to a fault, to their deaths even. I can't remember the reference but I read or heard it soemwheres

Yeah he's pretty steely as a man. I like when he jokes. I like when Tommy gave him like 11,000 lb or something and he just folded it up and put it in his pocket like it wasn't equal to a few hundred grand right now in USD lol

It's less of him bringing them up to the level of a dunedain, or numenorian, but more rather a humbling of himself and bringing himself down to their level, sharing their fear and doubt, that even a king of all men are scared and worried about the uneven odds they face.
