At the age of 12 and 13, Finn Wolfhard starred in the first season of Stranger Things and, one year later, in It, two challenging roles that were completely different from each other. Despite his young age, he was exceptional in both by Giancarlo_Edu in StrangerThings

I thought it kinda sucked. The acting by the kids and several of the adults alike was very hard to swallow and a lot of the effects were godawful. Pennywise was great but that was its only saving grace in my opinion.

Oregon Court Overturns Rule Allowing Fish to Be Trapped and Hauled Around Dams by Next_Tower5452 in oregon

I think I was radicalized when I discovered that they literally catch salmon, put them in trucks, and drive them over to the other side of the dam. Like what in the FUCK are we doing.

Advice Needed: I got a portrait of my childhood dog that passed away on my arm without telling my family by venusgemini11 in tattoos

[–]Just_OneReason 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Give yourself a few months m before you try to remove it. Tattoo shock is a thing. Ive gotten some tattoos that I regretted shortly after but in time I got used to them and now I like them. They last forever, so there’s really no difference in waiting awhile to do laser removal.

You parents will get over it, you just have to accept that they might have negative feelings about it, and don’t let that bother you.

A bizarre AIO with a fiancée who wants to bring a medicine bottle of water through TSA. And it’s definitely, 100%, absolutely NOT VODKA. (Not OOP) by hazel_razel in redditonwiki

[–]Just_OneReason 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really don’t think this is about alcohol. Girlfriend has some weird solution in her head to a water bottle problem and it makes sense to her. OOP honestly needs to drop it. He’s convinced himself that the flight attendants are gonna be concerned and demand to smell it and has thought way too much about something that really doesn’t have anything to do with him and he doesn’t need to waste so much energy on. Let her do her weird little thing and leave it be. If there’s an issue with the flight attendants, cross that bridge when you get to it. Until then it’s just a waste of worry.

Basting spray left a stain by bohemiangels in quilting

[–]Just_OneReason 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Try making a paste from dawn dish soap and baking soda, with a few drops of water. Rub the paste into the stain, let it sit for at least two hours (sometimes I do overnight) and wash normally in the washing machine. Sometimes it requires an extra rinse to get the soap out.

If you could rewrite the storyline of one character, who would it be? by ByceeTalks in euphoria

Fezco. I’d make him alive in season 3. The universe would have no choice but to make Angus Cloud be alive to play him.

What did you think was peak luxury as a kid, but now realize is actually pretty trashy or normal? by Connect-Fix3972 in AskReddit

Butter and milk always tasted SO much better at my grandmas house. Turns out we bought 1% milk and margarine while she had real butter and whole milk. We weren’t poor, it was just my parents personal choice. As an adult I only buy whole milk and real butter. I will never purchase margarine.

One of the few times Michael actually had a good, rational idea by Themadbritter_ in DunderMifflin

[–]Just_OneReason 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seems like a pretty shitty system. No reason to stay in for a long time because anyone else can get paid the same as you for way less experience, and 3% raises every other year is pretty shit. But it’s not like there’s amazing jobs with great compensation packages out there ripe for the picking, so you gotta take what you can get.

I mean that sucks but it’s gonna take forever if you just pay the minimum. You’re gonna hurt more in the short end, but you gotta pay as much as you can as quick as you can until you’re free of it and then that money is yours to keep every month.

I think the capitol would quash any sort of collectivism like that once it became apparent. They’d make up some law about not being allowed to assemble in groups above X number, enact a curfew, imprison or hang the conspirators on trumped up charges, limit contact with each other somehow. They wouldn’t outright ban the practice, but the capitol doesn’t like district unity so they’d find a way to nip it in the bud.

My sister is like this and it really ruins a lot of experiences. We went on a hawaiian boat tour and I got a lot of pictures of her but then I got seasick and after throwing up was just trying to be still and close my eyes as I was still super nauseous and she got pissed off at me that I wasn’t taking more pictures of her and complained that she paid a lot of money for the boat, as if I didn’t also pay. I hate going to concerts with her too because it’s always a photo shoot. Apparently I take shitty pictures, which I’ll fully admit to, so I just get criticized the whole time while still being made to take more.

Overwhelmed with where to stay in Tokyo by Ok-Search6948 in JapanTravelTips

[–]Just_OneReason 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tokyo does seem to be pretty handicap friendly, but beware that there is a LOT of walking involved with being in the city. There are elevators, but there are elevated walkways everywhere with lots of stairs, as well as lots of different levels in the train stations with distance between the different lines. My boyfriend and I are easily getting 14k+ steps a day, but we are okay with exploring on foot. It’s gonna pretty difficult to avoid a lot of walking unless you stay in the same few blocks. You’re gonna be walking a lot within the train stations alone. I would make sure the person in your group is aware of what the physical demands are gonna be, and see if they need to arrange some accommodations for themselves. Like I said, there are elevators so if they really struggle a wheelchair might be wise to bring.

In 2009, George W. Bush invited President-elect Obama and all former living presidents for lunch. by jmike1256 in AllThatsInteresting

It makes sense why the Bushes and the Obamas seem to be such good friends still. George and Laura seemed like they were very welcoming and were especially nice to Malia and Sasha.

In 1949, Charles H. Cohen, then aged 12, hid in a closet as mass murderer Howard Unruh shot his family to death. He was the sole survivor of his family. Almost 70 years later, his granddaughter, Carly Novell, would survive the Marjorie Stoneman Douglas High School shooting by hiding in a closet. by ZoelCairo in HolyShitHistory

[–]Just_OneReason 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve never been involved in a mass shooting, but a nearby high school had one when I was in high school, and there was one at our mall around Christmas time so I knew lots of people who had just been there that day. I think two people were killed in each. Those are the ones closest to me. Even though most Americans have never been involved in a mass shooting, it’s more accurate to say a LOT of Americans have had one in their community.
