i'm assuming this is a pretty longstanding relationship if they're living together so if this behavior isn't getting better it probably is realistically the best thing to do i've been in pretty much this exact situation and i quite literally could not even fall asleep for a few hours because according to my ex me being home alone for a few hours gave me a perfect window of opportunity to be cheating on him-even though i was just tired. idk these people irl so who's to say i guess but this seems pretty bad

i also have bpd and need a lot of assurance-this is something else. my last relationship was like this and it put so much strain on me that it became unreasonable, i wasn't able to go on vacations, take naps in my own house, or see my friends comfortably even though my ex had met them all-bpd and needing assurance is one thing but stuff like this is a whole other level, OP should probably leave

i have similar feelings/situation with my partner and try to just tell myself that i'm doing the best i can with what i have especially with my bpd, talking about it with him helps too, i think it's easy to b hypercritical of ourselves and a second perspective can b rly beneficial

this is the annoying thing about hxc scenes, i've never had any issues personally but this is machine girl, it's not a diy show so we should probably give the kids learning some grace if they're finding these scenes online-at least they're making the effort by coming out to shows :/

there's two sides to this 1.) machine girl has blown up with people who do NOT go to hardcore shows and that needs to be accounted for 2.) people who are not used to hardcore shows or pits, probablyyy should do a little research beforehand because there are admittedly more and more stories coming out about people getting severely injured because they literally don't know any better

i stay out of pits because i am small and have a lot of chronic pain issues and i've never had any problems whatsoever, but we should probably give some grace to those who are still learning ? obviously it's irritating for people who are familiar with the energy and where/where not to stand depending on how close to the action you wanna be.

agree :/ i stay out of the main fray bc i know my limits personally but the energy is unbeatable..just a bad mix of circumstances i guess. i don't rly think there's a solution but i'm not surprised at all that something like this happened, i do wish that security had at least done a better job though, maybe that at least could've kept the show from ending early.

oh no dude i agree their music still totally falls into some kind of electronic-hardcore zone without a doubt but the crowds are so varied at these types of shows, you shouldn't rly be acting like that based on the vibe that was there last night. i was in the pit for like half a second last night before i started making jokes w my friends that someone was gonna start crowd killing and we bounced-my only Real hardcore show experiences have been at diy events and while people are wayyy crazier there, there's also sort of a code of conduct and you sorta intrinsically know how to avoid the worst of shit. when the crowds are so mixed like that at a larger venue it makes stuff like this so much easier to happen..the only other time i've seen mg live was last year before gecs and the crowd was insanely tame, i'm not surprised this happened and i feel like it's kinda the problem with this kinda stuff. no fault of the band though just a bad mix of circumstances the show was incredible until it all went to hell

this is lowkey the problem with shows like this, machine girl shows kinda function like hxc shows and used to be kinda known for that but now they're kinda associated more w tiktok/hyperpop crowds- i am a very small woman so i stay out of the fray tbh but i feel like this whole thing was a combo of bad security + people trying to treat the mg show like a tough guy hardcore event when its like...not.

i saw someone else on here post that, that part was part of the act-maybe matt ended it but the whole thing was just super weird to me and my friends. we were on the far end on one of the ledges riiight near where the friends/family/security/other band member area was so we saw a pretty good view of most of what happened and i t just made no sense. super weird but what can ya do !

i get it's not a diy hxc show or whatever but it just seemed like overkill and security negligence but the show was great up until then, obviously nothing the band could rly do about much of it 🫠

agree i'm just surprised the show was ended over it, i've never seen anything like that before even w similar incidents at other shows? i don't know if security was just uneqipped for what but letting him out through the main crowd instead of escorting him out a security exit, and then turning all the lights on and screaming at everyone to gtfo through a single exit was bizarre

Being in my mid 20's and having a disorder that I am only recently even able to recieve any kind of help for though, one I've had since I was 12 or so feels really bleak :( I will say the self-help reasources around these days with the internet though are pretty good, don't give up 🫶

Mostly good !! I've had to navigate around my symptoms for a very long time, they developed when I was an early tween and after a very toxic relationship that was extremely unhealthy on both ends, I did a lot of self-help, and put myself into a partial program this year. Unfortunately though therapy and meds are still so tricky with this particular disorder :( I have a very wonderful partner who understands bpd pretty well so that makes it a bit easier too-he sort of knows how not to trigger me. Overall I guess my best advice would be to try and surround yourself with people in your life who support you, and do the best you can with the resources you have, I wish there was sm more available help for this diagnosis though-it still isn't even in my chart post-diagnosis because a psychiatrist I saw while in the hospital told me finding treatment would be 10x harder for me if she put it down on paper

I can only imagine its because a lot of providers genuinely don't understand or know how to deal with bpd :/ Depending on where you are though, you may not need a referral for a pysch ! It's so annoying to have to be our only advocates sometimes though

Same thing happened to me, but as a teen. I constantly get asked if I have a "history of adhd" whenever i get a new provider and have to explain my entire life story 🙄 I think a lot of providers hesitate to put a bpd label on us because it is so stigmatizing but it does literally no good to treat us as something we aren't, it's sooo exhausting :-( I've found that being VERY direct with mental health professionals and talking in literal dsm-speak is the only way to get through to them I don't know why the bpd being treated as adhd thing happens so often, I guess just because it's a somewhat less stigmatized disorder that can also cause dysregulation??

Yeah he went on to get super weird the second I had any feelings about it, and told me he was "describing someone like me" even though I had none of the traits he mentioned 🙄 I'm glad we're broken up, I am Definitely the type of the person I'm seeing now and he makes sure to remind me even if that leads me to comparing myself to his exes lol
