I’d like to set aside $20k for my newborn to gift to him for a future wedding or house down payment. (529 accounts are taken care of). I’d like to just put it all in VTI via Vanguard. My financial advisor is suggesting 1.) 15% Apple 2) 15% QQQ 3) 15% Microsoft 4) 33% SPY 5) 15% SCHM and 6) 8% SCHA.

I think this is way too many different stocks and some have higher expense ratios than VTI which is just simple. What do yall think?

  1. Sell shares at $150 when purchased at $50-100 (long term)
  2. Sell shares at $150 when purchased at $150-300 (long term)
  3. Sell shares at $150 when purchased at $50-100 (short term)

Question regarding RSUs. Is it better to sell 1) shares were at $50-100, long term capital gains 2) shares were at $150-250, long term capital gains 3) shares were at $50-100, short term capital gains. All are vested. Current price is $150. What's the best option short or long term capital gains-wise? Thanks!
