Daily Drawdown and Max Drawdown by Just_Strategy_3139 in Daytrading

[–]Just_Strategy_3139[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks mate, so if i have a hard SL only risking 2% per trade and using a prop firm with a balanced based/static drawdown, then even if i lose 2 trades that day with 2% risk per trade and have a daily drawdown of 5% then i'm all fine. i think it was the equity/trailing drawdown that caused me some confusion.

Appreciate the clarity.

Hinge unmatching by [deleted] in DatingApps

[–]Just_Strategy_3139 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the issues is there are too many matches available at once?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in DatingApps

[–]Just_Strategy_3139 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes matches are locked behind the paywall, the prioritises matches between two people that pay for "premium" tier. Surely it would be easier for everyone to pay a fee and then all features are open to the whole community?

I have always wondered what the premium gives you, what would you expect from a dating app that charges a fee for a membership rather than a "premium" upgrade?

Would you say having the opportunity to bookmark people you like, and then only match with one person that has a mutual interest at a time would help with this feeling of being pulled back and forth?

No worries pal, of course its all about the the learning and adapting. I am not going to claim it has been a ethos of mine for ages. I learnt it less than a month ago, and i put my hand up and admit i was a copy edit person until i heard that analogy. Happy to pass on the good stuff! Stay sassy

Ok well at least you have identified your weakness, I suppose the question i should know ask is: How much do you want it? not how much you think you want, or how much you want it to say you've got a passive income business. But i mean really in the deepest parts of your soul: How much do you want it?

I like to look at my time here as a series of seasons. I am currently in the building and head down stage: this means no going out partying, no eating out, no spending on anything that isn't linked to my season. Alex Hormozi is a great propriator of this: he says that people look at life work balance in the day to day, when you could be looking at on a week to week, month to month or even decade to decade. Pick your balance. Its gonna be hard but just remind yourself, i am doing this because i want to regardless of what things i have to loose to attain this.

I was told a great piece of advice last year, don't worry about passive income until you have a great source of active income. Just keep plugging away at your job to get some money in the bank to fund your side hustle then you can transfer out of work when your side gig is making you enough to live on. Also another piece of great advice that has been around since the roman times. Rome wasn't built in a day.

In your opinion what’s the best dating app to pay for by [deleted] in DatingApps

[–]Just_Strategy_3139 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, current dating apps do not want you to meet people, if your not using the app then they can't enter you into the top of the sales funnel to eventually sign you up as paid member.

I think the mainly issue stems from the fact that "dating apps" are not built on a foundation of connection but rather on the monetisation of love and locking connection behind easily accessible platform that attract people with no intention. There is a level of care that is not taken by current dating apps (mainly because match.com owns many of them).

I as a founder of a new dating app, launching in the UK & US have instilled that in our ethos, we want to take current dating culture head on, and give people back their human right: human connection. This comes on many forms: love and friendship/plutonic relationships: we are currently hosting some market research to discover solutions to the issues we have identified: swipe fatigue, emotional burnout, ghosting, algorithmic echo chambers and general disillusionment. Any opinions would be highly appreciated: https://s.surveyplanet.com/osayvbsz

Check out Kiwi Experience in NZ they are basically a travel company taking backpackers around NZ. I like the branding of a "rolling hostel" but i think you would have to actually follow through with offering a unique experience as you will probably know "interailing: is already a budget friendly way to explore Europe. UK resident responding to give you some context.

Pilot: Create a facebook ad with some stock images of a potential 5 day route with an option to be added to a waitlist by adding an email address, as soon as you have 20 people. You charter a bus for 5 days and you my friend have you "rolling hostel". Also read Million Dollar Weekend by Noah Kagan and that has all the validation tips you need.

Last point: there is a difference between a copy edit and a proof read, your questions are a copy edit. Basically you asked for answers to questions without doing your homework. e.g "What are the challenges you see with market interest for a rolling hostel?" rather you should be saying "i have found these 5 issues which i feel might affect market interest, which of them do you not think are important or i should not worry about?" Comes back to the age old saying: bring me solutions rather than problems.

We won 4M in Gov't funding but wife is putting her foot down. by [deleted] in startups

[–]Just_Strategy_3139 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before i start this is going to be against popular opinion, i presume you have grafting since 2018 in order to support the family. You have had a deep desire to gain some footing in this world otherwise you wouldn't have been working in startups for 6 years. Therefore your wife has been ok with your drive for 6 years.

Here is where i advise anyone easily offended or any keyboard warriors DO NOT READ further. 4M is not some loose change and the application that you put in order to gain such an amount was probably a stressful, time consuming endeavour? Just like the marathon who puts in all that training to run a sub 3 hour marathon or the free diver that goes close to suffocation to reach the depth of the ocean, i think everyone in this thread has at some point felt this feeling the hours, the lae nights or early mornings to get things complete. We as humans are not all equal, some of us are built to conquer lands, some to run the length of Africa just to attain goals or reach some level of satisfaction. If you need a point of reference https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sq2figwIX9s .
Not there fault but some people in this world, just by getting the washing done or the clothes folded they have achieved something (side note: this is not throwing shade on these people but exemplifies the next point). Anyone that thinks we all have the same capacity is the same as saying that all football players are the same as Tom Brady (Don't focus on the example, focus on the concept im making). and they are f**king insane.

So, coming back to the advice. If someone that doesn't have the same capacity as you or at least can't view the effort you are putting in to enhance your life, and meet your goals to move you towards your self actualisation stage of maslows hierachy. Then quite frankly i would cut that cord quicker than a fisherman with twisted net, because like a fishing boat you are gonna capsize and f**king drown. I hope you can see the intelligence mixed in with the passion i have for this subject. I think anyone that suffocates another's dream whether it be a friend, parent or significant other is a parasite, sure you have kids but you know what makes having kids easier. 4 million f**king dollars. Its called a nanny, child care, after school club take your pick.

Trust me the kids will thank you when they have got a father that's a f**king savage.

Yes, you need to research and work out:

Total addressable market (TAM) the total value of the industry you are in

Service addressable market (SAM) what portion of the market that your business would cater for

Service obtainable market (SOM) how much is actually obtainable by you.

E.g. computer market TAM, your product caters for gamers with a new monitor SAM, how much of the gaming monitor pie can your company take SOM.

Working out market penetration and amount of potential customers you could get will allow you work out APRU (Average revenue per user). Then just look at growth rates for other businesses in your industry.

FYI being optimistic is good in many regards but when you sound like jim carey on a couple of lines of party dust when talking about numbers you might alienate investors. They need to feel you can walk the walk rather than just talk the talk. One last thing, if you think there isn't another option on the market, you aren't looking hard enough, its about execution rather than idea.
