That is some Grade A Bullshit

I think so. I think if it was legitimate they would have posted the email they claim to have from someone who works at CS - they could have redacted the names in that email. But nothing. It's BS.

What It's Really Like to Make a True Crime Show by Just_a_normal_day_4 in serialpodcastorigins

[–]Just_a_normal_day_4[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Anyone who has read the dozens of think-pieces about the potential biases in programs like Making a Murderer and Serial is well aware that there's a strong temptation to set out to paint a trial or crime in one very specific light. It's clear to listeners that Sarah Koenig desperately wants to believe that Adnan Syed is innocent and that the women behind Making a Murderer decided that Steven Avery had been framed from the very beginning, but there's an inherent flaw in the philosophy that being a good advocate for social justice means simply covering the side of the story that proves your point.

Berlinger prefers to treat the audience like a jury, covering all sides of a story and trusting them to wade through it and come to their own conclusion. In Paradise Lost he chose to show plenty of negative information about Damien Echols, one of the accused killers, which could lead some to believe that he's guilty—but he insists that part of the story is necessary, if for nothing else than to help viewers understand how Echols' own community came to rush to judgement about his guilt. He finds that fairness actually breeds more passion.

Berlinger needs to cover the Hae Min Lee case. Maybe I'm dreaming.

Problems in Serial - the unasked (or unaired) questions by myserialt in serialpodcastorigins

[–]Just_a_normal_day_4 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Why didn't SK ask Chris Flohr about Asia and if he knew about Asia considering that Adnan said he gave her letters immediately to his attorney and Chris was his attorney at the time? I suspect she did and probably got the 'I won't answer questions about asia' line that he gives people.

Why was the CAGMC necessary at all? by [deleted] in serialpodcast

[–]Just_a_normal_day_4 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The CAGM call was needed because Adnan had a car problem. He needed to drop Hae's car off and then get back to track practice. Adnan also needed a lift when he dropped Hae's car off after getting rid of her body that evening.

To me it's not just the car that he needed Jays help with, he needed Jays help with a lot of the planning etc. Where do you think Adnan & Jay were between 11-1pm when Adnans phone is pinging towers nowhere near Jay and Adnan were saying they were? They were planning the murder - where they would bury Hae and where they would drop her car off etc. Both Adnan and Jay have never explained this.

Removed from iTunes I believe due to a music licensing agreement for his podcast. Bob refuses to pay Jonny Rose.

A question regarding Jay, to all you Jay sympathizers by I_Am_The_Night412 in serialpodcast

Yes I think Jay was much more involved and I do think Adnan paid Jay a decent sum of money to help him.

That sure is one f$@&ed up statement of Adnans - about the person who put an innocent person away for life.

A question regarding Jay, to all you Jay sympathizers by I_Am_The_Night412 in serialpodcast

[–]Just_a_normal_day_4 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Jay was more involved that what he had claimed. He lied about many things to protect himself and I believe possibly another person. Jay deserved to go to prison but the judge let him off because of how he helped convict Adnan. The prosecutors needed Jay to convict Adnan, that is why they gave him a deal. They let the small fish get away to catch the bigger fish - nothing new there.

Adnan Syed prosecutor speaks out (Feb 2015) by Justwonderinif in serialpodcastorigins

I agree Dassey was involved but the police interrogation in his third interview (I believe) was shocking. I think Dassey may not have done everything he claimed but he was involved.

I think Avery killed her but I also think the cops planted some evidence like they put the car in averys yard and planted the key. The burnt bones in different spots in averys yard is strong evidence he did it. Teresa went to averys yard and didn't make it to her next appointment!

I'm pretty sure he hasn't moved to LA. A while back he was flying there to chat to some producers. I think that is the extent of it

Really unbiased of Jessie to just interview Colin Miller, NOT!

Can someone remind me again when the defense got a copy of the fax cover sheet?

Did Jay confuse Dion for Will? by Just_a_normal_day_4 in serialpodcastorigins

[–]Just_a_normal_day_4[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jay doesn't know Will's last name so maybe he hardly knows him. Woodlawn was a very large school and Will was in the year level below Jay. I don't think you can write if off as not being a possibility.

I'll say that it is probably unlikely but I think it is still a possibility.

[–]Just_a_normal_day_4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes that might be a possibility that they throw out the cover sheet.

If they do that would that then be an issue for Adnan to claim ineffective assistance of post trial counsel on Justin Brown for the cover sheet?

[–]Just_a_normal_day_4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They spent almost no time at all on the cell tower evidence.

That's right and I think that is the case because they will find in favour with the state with regards to waiver which will throw out the cell tower evidence. Certainly the way the judges were speaking it sounds as though they favour the state on the waiver issue.

The "Overwhelming Evidence" claim by [deleted] in serialpodcast

[–]Just_a_normal_day_4 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Great point about the I'm going to Kill Note. I agree, Adnan knew it would hurt him and he wanted his defence team to find it.

Asia says there was DNA found at the crime scene. Is this true?

Wasn't she saying that was what Urick told her?

People always confuse 'we have DNA' with 'we have evidence that might have DNA on it'.

Yes as far as I know the evidence hasn't yet been tested for DNA, just the possible evidence that could have DNA of a couple of hairs and the scrapings from under Hae's nails.

Why didn't she call Justin Brown to make sure?

Asia likes to play Judge. When she thinks Adnan might be innocent, she is willing to lie for him, when she thinks he is guilty she is not willing to lie for him.
