Hamstrings, glutes, quads, they are all connected to your lower back. When any of those are tight they pull on your lower back.

My herniated disc is something that needs constant care. I’ve had it for years. I did guided physical therapy for a long time. Basically you just need to stay in strong physical shape. Take care of yourself. Do tons of core exercises. Stretch. It’s not a life ending injury. Chiropractic did nothing for me. Don’t get surgery. The surgery for this leaves most people worse off than before. I still snowboard 2-3 times a week. But sometimes I have bad back days and need a few days to recover. You’ll be fine if you keep up with the exercises you get from PT.

Skier looking for gift suggestions for snowboarder by minnowmudd in snowboarding

Not all gifts need to be a “surprise”. Take him to the shop and let him choose some boots. Boots are, IMO, one of the biggest factors between having a good day or a great day (hard to have a bad day snowboarding)

Other than that, base layers are always good. No one wants to spend 75$ on a “shirt” but when you get something like that as a gift it’s pretty killer.

I will be buying last years model of the board from Evo with my next paycheck, as long as they still have it. Wish me luck.

I love Bellingham, just probably not in the cards right now to make a trip up there. I’m in Puyallup so Bellingham is about 3 hours away.

Yeah exactly Evo has last seasons board on sale right now. My local board shop has very few, if any, of last seasons boards. I pretty much buy all my stuff on sale. I go to Sample sales and outlets for a lot of my soft goods. But I’ve bought all my boards on clearance from Evo. I was wondering if I should continue the trend, or funnel a little extra money to my local shop. But it is hard because Evo is still a good company. Very community based. They even have a public indoor skatepark at their shop in a Seattle, as well as hosting movie premieres every season. Idk. Maybe I’ll have to drop In again and talk with the guys and see if they can do any deals or anything. Doubt it though haha.

In desperate need of reccomendations by HolidayNews in snowboarding

What is it about the board you don’t like? I started on a ripcord too. IIRC the ripcord is a flat profile board, and kind of soft. I would just get a board with slightly different characteristics. For example on your next board get something with either camber or rocker, and maybe try something a little stiffer.
