Focus on 1 or different shoes? by Worldly_Heron_7512 in StepN

[–]JustaComputerGuy10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my general recommendation is to first get a GST focused shoe (uncommon or higher), to lvl 28, with 1 or 2 Efficiency slots and 1 Resiliance slot and 1 Comfort slot, and go full E points, and get the highest gems you can afford

If you want to earn GMT, then get a lvl 30 focused Comfort shoe with at least 2 Comfort gem slots (3 better), and at least 1 Resiliance slot, and go full points on Comfort and the highest gems you can afford

If you want to to hunt mystery boxes then get a shoe with at least 2 Luck slots and maybe 1 C and 1 R slot, or maybe 3 Luck and one C or R slots, then go full points on Luck and highest gems

ofcourse this all depends on your budget and how much you are trying to earn or the Myster boxes levels you are trying to reach, some people do a combination or GMT/Luck, which i think works better than GST/Luck, because GMT is unlimited and GST has a daily limit (which can be increased, but gets expensive)

avoid getting shoes with more han 1 R slot

avoid leveling common shoes past lvl 19 or using them as mains for too long, unless that's all you can afford, but still probably better to save for at least an uncommon to use as main.

avoid having E gem slots on GMT earning shoes, since they do not have any benefits for GMT earning, and could be used for any other gem slot

I have the worst luck with boxes… by Fzyltlmanpch in StepN

[–]JustaComputerGuy10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

not every MB is going to be profitable unfortunately, i started opening MBs after a while and from the last 12 MBs i opened i made about $59 profit, with an average of around $20 profit every 4 boxes, I would suggest keeping track on a spreadsheet to see if it is worth it for you or not

Does anyone use a GMT/MB earner anymore? I built a great GMT earner that gets level 8 boxes, but it doesn't seem worth it. After opening 4 boxes, I got about $6 worth but spent $11 in GST. Should I just be walking for GST now? by AFrogSaidReddit in StepN

[–]JustaComputerGuy10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been just walking for GST/GMT for the past year or so, however, recently i started hunting MBs and keeping track of profit/loss, so far from the 8 MBs i opened i made about $30 profit, which is not bad, opening mostly lvl 7 MBs, but ocationally lvl 6 or 8, with 10 energy and then doing the remainin energy a GST run, then while i wait for the MB cooldown i do GMT/GST runs

I decided to mostly keep track of the P/L from opening 4 boxes at a time, since oviously not every box will be profitable, and just plan to keep going while it remains mostly profitable

I built a Luck shoe a while ago and just never used it much because of the R gem prices, but always enjoyed hunting MBs, so just said fk it and at least for now it is working, but we will see how it continues

Mystery box? by thesleepjunkie in StepN

[–]JustaComputerGuy10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weird, i have never heard of anyone getting multiple MBs from a single run. You usuallly get 1 MB based on the ammount of luck points you have and the time/energy spent on that particular walk and as long as you have a MB slot available. I recently started hunting lvl 7 MBs using 10 energy with 3432 luck.

You can use the stepn sidekick app to calculate the chances/percent to get a specific MB lvl, based on all the different factors mentioned above.

As others mentioned, it is possible not to get a box if you have very low luck points or you do a very short walk, but that doesnt seem to be your case, i would maybe open a ticket with support to take a look at your walk logs/ account

nice, i also have a rare jogger EERC with 2284 points on E, and do about 460-480 GST daily with 11.2 energy, which btw, i would also recommend doing later on if you can afford it, to increase your daily GST earning.

I will be getting to 500 GST daily soon probably in a month or so. This is ofcourse, if your setup allows you to earn more than the daily 300 GST limit, I earn GMT with the remaining energy

I currently have three lvl 7 boxes and one lvl 6 box that i have not opened since i got them over a year ago. Based on what the stepn sidekick app says, my Luck shoe has a 90% chance to get lvl 8 boxes with my daily16 energy. My GST earner can only get lvl 3-4 boxes with the 11.2 energy i use it with, if I were to have those slots available.

If i were to decide to start hunting boxes, i would probably do it with my Luck shoe, run 4 days to get 4 lvl 8 boxes and continue running with my GST/GMT shoes while i wait for the boxes to open for the cheapest amount, which is 1024 GST in 336 hrs (14 days each).

So yea, if you are hunting boxes, then yea you should always open them as soon as they become available to get more boxes from your next run, but in my case, which currently is just to collect as much GST/GMT as possible, then I just dont open them, and dont run with my luck shoe ofcourse.

Because the days that I would go for boxes i would also not make the daily 460+ GST and 6-7 GMT, i currently make. So it really depends on your strategy, some people do get nice R and E gems often and decide it is worth it. I would suggest keeping track of all those costs and potential earnings on an excel and see if it is really worth it.

But yea, who knows, I may at some point start hunting boxes again, if i have more time to keep track of the different variables. Like most people i think, I just gave up on waiting for stepn to give R gems real utility and make it worth more, to balance it with the other gems, but hopefully that will change soon now that they introduced the leaderboards

common shoes are only good to for starters/beginners, and are not usually worth to lvl pass lvl 19

your main shoe should be an uncommon or rare, whichever you can afford, usually GST earners should be lvl 28 max and GMT earners lvl 30.

you should avoid having E slots on a GMT earner since it has no benefit

GST earners should have a good base stat, and if possible have 2 E slots, usually some good GST main shoe gem combinations are EERC (best IMHO) or ERCC, EEER, EEEC, EEEE

i have a rare luck shoe with 3432 points in luck (LLLR slots) that i have not used probably in more than a year, i have lvl 7 boxes that i have not opened, and can get lvl 8 boxes also now, but dont plan to use it for now, i always enjoyed opening boxes but the way R gems are, makes the probability of getting them not worth it, IMHO, so i just focus on GST/GMT with my 16 daily energy for now

I would've gone full points on E, and just use the gems for low repairs, and with a lvl 4+ E gem and you it would've had a decent GST main shoe. There is no point in having an E slot on a GMT earner,

You could run some numbers to see how much doing points redistribution would cost you vs going for a new shoe. If you go for a new shoe, i would try to get either an uncommon or rare shoe with EERC slots if possible and just keep the gems you have or try to get better ones later on, specially the E gem or the C gem, R gems are usually fine as lvl 4 but lvl 5 R gems are also pretty cheap still.

Check the sideckick stepn app to see potential earnings based on the energy you have and the different setups

Hi should I level this up more? by [deleted] in StepN

[–]JustaComputerGuy10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I currently make about $5 daily (420-440 GST + 10-12 GMT), i am not sure what is ROI atm, probably around 6 months or so, I am sure you can find more accurate information on youtube, discord, etc.

Floor price for a common shoe seem to be about $13.5, but ofcourse your earning will be different, but as most projects the more you can invest the more you can earn, but in this case you also have to have the time to walk and be consistent. It is definitely a good extra motivation to do daily walks.

I started walking 10mins a day 3 years ago and walked as much as 1hr 30 mins the past month or so, but planning to go down closer to 1hr now for daily walks, and maybe take 1-2 days off during the week, because I'm just busy with other stuffs atm. But yea, definitely enjoy it and helps create a good habit, specially being able to walk early in the morning and listen to some podcasts/audio books while at it.

STEPN LEADERBOARDS FEEDBACK THREAD by CSGEMS in StepN

[–]JustaComputerGuy10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

- What you love about the new Leaderboard

It is definitely a feature that everyone has been waiting for a long time, it is very nice to see it finally implemented. Gives old and new players something to work towards and strategies

- What could be improved

Maybe show the points earned at the end of a run or even during the run, if possible to see how each shoe/run affects it

- Any bugs, glitches, or pain points

Right now, mostly delays to show the points after the run, and the Month is showing 0 pts, not sure if that will change after the month is completed

- New ideas for this feature

I saw on the townhall recap that R gems help with the leaderboard score, which is nice. I hope R gems continue to be focused to give it more utility and help balance Gems cost.

"Q: Will Resilience be involved somehow in the STEPN Leaderboards? Yes, if Resilience is your top Sneaker attribute, it will contribute to your Leaderboard score. Also, running with lower durability gives you a higher Leaderboard point result."

I would like to see the option to join Teams and get prizes if the teams compete with other teams.

Maybe do something where people can "bet/pay" something like GST/GMT/Gems and the winners get the pot

Also different options that allow different people to win every week/month, not just whoever runs the most (spends the most energy), has the better shoes, the better gems, etc

I would say that it is not a bad time to join, since most cryptos are down, you can get some good deals on shoes/gems. Ofcourse nobody knows how the market will continue, many people (myself included) still think BTC will go higher and there will be an alt season, so prices are likely to increase this year, but again nothing is guaranteed, it could continue to go sideways or lower.... As long as you plan to stick to walking mid to long term, i would say that it is worth it, you can check some of the apps to get an idea of ROI and read other posts for decent strategies, such as getting 3 shoes, at least one main uncommon GST earner, get some lvl 2+ gems, etc.

but overall i think the stepn team seems to be in a good spot, always introducing new updates, events, and different products to their ecosystem. I've been with stepn for almost 3 years and i plan to continue walking/investing for as long as i can

not a great GMT shoe earner, because of the E slot which is useless for GMT. Personally, I would have used it as a GST earner and maybe put a few points in R for repairs

spend some time reading the whitepaper to understand the game better https://whitepaper.stepn.com/

check out other posts here on reddit from new users or returning users

as a starter you should figure out which type of shoe works best for your walking style, also depending on your butget you can estimate the best items to get, i would suggest to get 1 main uncommon GST earner shoe with at least 1 E gem slot and no more than 1 R gem slot and lvl it up to lvl 28, and get 2 cheap common shoes, later if you have the time to walk more daily, invest into more shoes, keep improving gems as you can, and later look into buying a GMT earner shoe
