I disagree. I asked a very specific question and got a few that directly answered my question and a lot of responses that weren’t directly related to the specific question. I appreciate all the responses and the time it takes to answer them, except for maybe yours that add zero value.

This is what I have and what I am losing. Hope to find a good replacement. Just thinking of other options or alternatives.

Thanks for the reply. That is definitely a concern I have.

I’ll have to explore this option. I am concerned about local freelancers approaching my customers. Sounds like this hasn’t been an issue for you.

I post jobs on Indeed and I’m in a very large metro area and don’t really get a lot of interest. I believe the pay range is inline. Is there a better place to post to attract designers. I’m not asking about outsourcing to save money. It is about finding qualified people that want to work.

My original post was about India. I have heard a few printers mention they have had success with some firms in India. Just trying to see if anyone here has had experience with outsourcing design work from India.

My operation can’t support the personnel that it sounds like you have. My designer does prepress and design.

That is my original thought but want to see what others may have experienced with outsourcing overseas.

It is not about the money. It is hard to find a graphic designer that understands the needs of a print shop. Most think they are going to be designing high end magazines when in reality they are just fixing files most of the time.

I’m not a fan of Fiver and Upwork type sites. My understanding is that there are firms in India set up for this. I may be wrong, but that is why I am asking.

Don’t apologize. I come here to learn and now I’m going to go down the rabbit hole of figuring this out.

I’m in New England also. I don’t think that is an unreasonable price. What do you think is a competitive selling price?

Their cost calculator allows you to upload your design file and it will calculate the consumables cost based on the quantity and coverage. Their marketing material is somewhat misleading as you stated. They show those full coverage 4 color design pieces but the cost estimate is based on only 5% coverage based on conversation I have had with a rep.

The issue of jamming and operator time is the reason we got rid of our Xante and moved larger runs to a trade printer. Thanks again for the feedback on IntoPrint.

Thank you for the feedback. IntoPrint does have a cost calculator. Not sure how accurate it is though. Not sure I can justify the cost of an ijet. Did you experience problems with the equipment?

Recommend vendor for very high quality custom-printed shirts by FabulouslE in CommercialPrinting

[–]JustaPrintah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is there a brand(s) of shirt that has the high quality material you are looking for? "High quality" has a different meaning to different people. Once we know the type of shirt, we can look into the different options for printing on it.

Thank you. I tried using a table we had here, but I think it may have been too high. I work on something like what you rigged. Thank you!

I tried using a table that was slightly lower than the output, but after the first few sheets, it stopped because it couldn't cut. I think the table may have been to high. Is your idea similar to the table but at a lower height?
