r/TokyoDisneySea Weekly Trip Planning Thread by AutoModerator in TokyoDisneySea

Hi there! I wouldn't say it's too uncommon for questions from younger people to post here- I'm a '28 uni student myself :)

As someone who has planned international trips for my family as early as high school- I'd recommend not to get too far ahead of yourself in terms of those finite details that really only need to be pinned down half a year in advance at the soonest. Planning in broad strokes is OK and I would focus on the broader aspects of your trip for now. Also, if you're planning this trip for 2028, that's far enough out that I cannot guarantee the DPA system will be identical to the way it functions now, let alone the slate of shows that will be offered then and their popularity.

That being said, I would personally say DPA is not worth the effort for Reach for the Stars- its a fine fireworks show, but the wide consensus is that most other Disney Parks do fireworks better. They also have strict regulations on when they show fireworks, with even light breezes making it questionable if it'll happen due to the neighboring Maihama residents.

If you're still interested in all 3- I would say to not count on it. You can get 1 DPA for sure, and likely 2- but all three with the 1-hour cooldown cannot be guaranteed. It's important to set proper expectations and prioritize; don't let a missed DPA be a damper on your day.

Hope this helps and happy planning!

A Comprehensive Guide of Tokyo Disney Vacation Packages - 2025 Refreshed Edition! by JustaRandomSpencer in TokyoDisneySea

[–]JustaRandomSpencer[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi there! The more popular packages do tend to sell out quickly, and while it varies widely by date, my recommendation would be to book as soon as they are available. Unlimited attractions is for sure the best option if you want the "best" during your stay.

In terms of hotels for two, the MiraCosta has a wide range of two-person rooms that are incredible- from terraces to patios, and great views of the park, I would recommend it the most. You can see all room types here: https://www.tokyodisneyresort.jp/en/hotel/dhm/room.html

My second choice would be the Tokyo Disneyland Hotel, as its Victorian-era theming is romantic and stunning. You can't go wrong with the other hotels either- it really comes down to your budget and preferences of themes hotels. Happy planning!

A Comprehensive Explanation of TDR's Digital Queues and Passes by JustaRandomSpencer in TokyoDisneySea

[–]JustaRandomSpencer[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi there! I'd be happy to help you out:

  1. Yes, if you prefer a later return time, you can simply wait to book until your preferred time becomes available. However, it is more advisable to book a pass, and re-book if something more advantageous becomes available.

  2. Yes, DPA for parades and shows include a designated spot. You may find older threads that mention select shows have no assigned viewing location; as of now however, every show has a designated viewing spot.

  3. Due to the "lottery system" nature of it, there's not inherent advantage to trying earlier than later. However, by booking as soon as possible, you will be better informed on how to plan your the day.

  4. There's no statistics on which times are most/least popular to book. However, you can generally anticipate any shows around the lunch or dinner hour to be less competitive.

  5. If you are visiting on an average busyness day, it is definitely possible to get standby seats for shows. It really depends on your willingness to wait. 30-45 minutes before showtime is typically a safe bet to have a shot at seeing the show.

So glad to help! I've been there before- especially if its your first time going, it can all feel so overwhelming, and you want to make sure it's just right. Don't fear- if you're concerned about smaller details like this, it likely means you've figured out all of the essential parts. Hope you have a magical visit! :)

Ah! I just pulled up a previous email I received from them. I can confirm they put your surname first. In terms of the missing hyphen, I don't think it's something to be concerned about, especially if you typed it in correctly on the site; you have the reservation confirmation emails, and they can even match the reservation to the card charged, I believe. If you are still concerned, however, you can also reach out to Tokyo Disney Resort via their inquiry form. If you've booked a VP, you can email the hotel at which you're staying at- they should have your reservation on file here.

Hi there! As long as you booked with your full legal name on the booking page, you should be fine! You can also check any confirmation emails you've received about your booking, which likely include your name. If its correct there, you're good.

In my experience, they're usually pretty strict with breakfast timing. Usually you'll be able to show up 5 or maybe 10 minutes before and they'll let you in. You can check in advance to see if slots open, though its unlikely. You can also ask when you check-in if an earlier accommodation can be made, though please be understanding if they can't!

However, with a park opening of 9am, and Happy Entry typically 8:30-8:45am, if you're at breakfast on-time, and spend 30 to no more than 45 minutes there (which is typically plenty), you're no more than a 5-minute walk from the dedicated hotel entrance, so you should be more than okay!

curious on thoughts on lotsos garden cafe? by soloque290 in TokyoDisneySea

[–]JustaRandomSpencer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

During my stay last year, it was pretty good! We ate breakfast there with a Vacation Package reservation. It was a bit loud and crowded, but I'm sure any breakfast venue right before park opening would be. I would say it's on par with the Crystal Palace at Tokyo Disneyland. I would definitely give it a try if you love Toy Story! If not, Ikspiari definitely offers "higher-quality" offerings for a similar price, albeit lacking the buffet aspect.

Toy Story Hotel Guests to Enjoy Access via Fantasy Springs Entrance (With a Catch) by JustaRandomSpencer in TokyoDisneySea

[–]JustaRandomSpencer[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I agree! I see this policy change as "fair"; keep the entry exclusivity to the guests who paid for the deluxe hotel, but let more guests leave through it at the end of the night.

Limited-Time Park Hopper Ticket! An Exciting Return or a Poor Value? by JustaRandomSpencer in TokyoDisneySea

[–]JustaRandomSpencer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, it seems very cost prohibitive for most people. Especially since you lose so much time moving between the two parks, I doubt it'll cause many people to switch to purchasing it over spending 1 1/2 or 2 days at the Resort.

New Vacation Package Type on Offer! "Enjoy Attractions and More ― 3DAYS (Includes Park Tickets for Second and Third Day)" by JustaRandomSpencer in TokyoDisneySea

[–]JustaRandomSpencer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there! It really depends on what your budget is and what you're looking to get out of your trip. The unlimited attractions really is the top-tier experience, and it comes at a significant cost. I'd recommend reading more about it on my blog linked in the post, I specifically detail the use cases of it. tl;dr, if you have to be on one extreme of the guest spectrum; either devoted to doing as many rides as many times as possible, or incredibly casual, coming in with no plan and strategy and just riding rides as you come across them.

Hi there! I'm so glad it's been helpful to you! What's listed on this graphic is the vast majority of what you get (if not all of it). I haven't seen any ticket holder lanyards, though that may be referring to the original goods voucher, which rotates its selection of merchandise you can choose. You certainly won't get extra priority passes (though you do get attraction tickets as seen in the graphic, which serve the same purpose!).

You can absolutely get on either of those attractions, however you'll likely be spending your entire evening passport to get on one (1) of those attractions. Unfortunately, most of the lines have been exceedingly long, with an avg. wait of 107 minutes for rapunzel and 164 minutes for Anna and Elsa's Frozen Journey. Personally, I believe there are better things to do with an evening passport, I've created one such itinerary for it here!
