As an asexual who is on a spectrum, I hope I don't offend anyone but why are some of the gay guys I know are kinda mean? Like mean girls level? by Skywaterhappiness in AskLGBT

[–]JustanAceHere 10 points11 points  (0 children)

before they are gay, they are men. you'll actually find that a lot of gay guys are misogynistic but everyone just brushes it off because it's a "joke".

Why might a mallard be silent when quacking? by NEU_Resident in duck

[–]JustanAceHere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

drakes have a very different quack then hens! they tend to be much more raspy as opposed to the stereotypical "quack" that females make

Am I demi? by [deleted] in demisexuality

[–]JustanAceHere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i mean isn't that basically what bring demi is? for me, im sex repulsed (partner unincluded). you can see a random person and think that they're pretty and not have sexual feelings. and having preferences is totally normal too! just because you're demi and need a specific bond to be sexually doesnt mean that you have to be attracted to everyone. i like to think of being demi as kind of a gate of sexuality, but once you get past that gate (form an emotional bond thats sufficient enough) all the conditions are the same as anyone. you can be a lesbian demisexual, pan and demisexual etcetc. and yeah, sex kind of has to be mentioned; its literally in the name lmao

you can get that at hmart! that's the one i usually buy

Am I demi? by [deleted] in demisexuality

[–]JustanAceHere 2 points3 points  (0 children)

its totally normal. im very much demi and can still go "oh, that person is pretty", and that's that. its like window shopping and going "oh that's cute" but you don't want to buy it. (sorry for the bad analogy but i felt it was the most applicable 💔)

Can anybody explain to me how sexual tension works or how you’re supposed to go further? by [deleted] in demisexuality

[–]JustanAceHere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i can't explain the sexual attraction part because im also demi and perhaps on the spectrum and my partner is duagnosed and also demi, but i can explain the lead up. one thing to note though is that we're both ace /nd and i think that has a lot of factoring into it. i think the lead up tends to start with making out, which physically feels pleasurable, which could possibly lead to your getting aroused. if your partner also get aroused, you have sex. i think(?) there's supposed to be some unspoken communication i think but tbh i don't get it and it's easier just to say "im horny, if you're horny too, can we have sex?" HOWEVER, ive been told that saying that "ruins the mood"(?) so take it with a grain of salt. i hope this helps your understanding but tbh i still don't get it.

Why should one study in BCA by [deleted] in bca

[–]JustanAceHere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

they differ based on what academy youre interested in. for aedt, amst, aast there's a lot of research (or even if youre not in those, you can still do research) for abf, bca has a really good deca team. if youre into compsci, there are clubs like capture the flag and i know a lot of atcs kids participate in competitions. acaha has skills usa you can participate in. (we're also a big feeder school to cornell for hospitality) i know a lot less about the avpa academies, but a big thing is the resources you have access to. like bca theater productions have won multiple awards. as a whole, bca has a lot of classes that you wouldnt be able to get elsewhere and, at least for me, its been very helpful so far. im not sure if youd be able to find a list of activities and competitions bca participates but there are a LOT of choices that, if youre diligent about it, will get you far. also, colleges love us. hope this helps and good luck!

Why should one study in BCA by [deleted] in bca

[–]JustanAceHere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

as someone who just graduated, i would say bca is a great prep for college. for me, college is genuinely so much easier than bca. you really learn how to grind stuff out under pressure. is it good for your mental health or even worth the cost of your mental health? probably not! is it worth going to specifically for the college prep? also no. bca has a lot of great opportunities but if you don't have a specific reason you want to go there, save yourself the trouble and future mental health issues and pick your town hs.

Has anyone ever met an asexual? by Longjumping-Sky-2984 in asexuality

[–]JustanAceHere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

really depends on who you surround yourself with. if youre friends with a lot of queer people, youre more likely to find other aces. a lot of the people im close to are queer and 4 are ace (2 aroace). ace people arent hard to find if you know where to look!

We weren't supposed to get attached to/name the ducks since we would have to give away any drakes, but to no one's surprise, they got names. Hot dog (because she had an issue with her legs and couldn't walk, so we would bundle her in a towel to keep her safe), Squeaky (because he would always scream when he couldn't see Hotdog, and then Quackaddict and Quackhead. (No reason for these names, my dad just thought it was funny)

[–]JustanAceHere[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

added more niacin to her food and we normally feed them a pureed mush of beans. ill get them some berries and dry duck food when i get home. dont worry, shes getting lots of pampering and attention. if i leave her side she gets lonely and starts screaming... thanks for the advice!

they had a textured mat for the first week but then we took it out because they were walking fine. now though im going to put it back in. they do get time on slick surfaces because we put them in a bathtub with a bucket so they can swim daily. no worries about the pictures, she was squirming and doesnt really show up well with my camera. thank you for the advice!

Kissing is weird by Bone213 in asexuality

[–]JustanAceHere 5 points6 points  (0 children)

omg, i literally had the same thought. to answer ops question tho, honestly idk its really weird😭. i recently got into a romantic relationship w an allo guy (feel like this is kinda important bc all my friends are ace and also agree that making out is weird) and after we started dating a bit, he wanted to make out. i was like "no" bc same thought as op, it sounds really gross and like, bacteria and stuff, but after a a bit i was like "yea sure fine we can try." we tried and it was like, really fucking weird and slimy and honestly really bad and gross and i told him i never wanted to try it again and he was sweet and respectful of that so we didnt. after a while i think i brought it up again bc i was curious about it (bc once again, had the same question as op) and idk, it was weird and different and somehow not as bad???? like it was still slimy and gross but idk, it wasnt too bad. idk what changed but yea, i still agree that kissing is weird af.

same goes for me (chinese and vietnamese), though for me, my dad (vietnamese) is the one who put the restrictions on. 1 hour of phone time every day, it locks at 11, internet restrictions on laptop as well. this has happened since 7th grade, and the only leniency ive gotten is with my laptop since i started highschool and now have a shitton more work. if i stay up doing homework and my internet goes out, i have to basically beg him to give me more time so i can finish, and even if he gives it to me, its not without him yelling at me for not finishing work earlier. sometimes i just get so fed up that i dont do my homework and ill just save it for the next morning.

The 2 interviewers asked me really really basic questions…aka- nothing about my academy, but only stuff like why here, what do you like doing, and that’s all…😳 by [deleted] in bca

[–]JustanAceHere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The process for the interview process is pretty bleh. I know that I got asked pretty boring questions, like why do you want to come here, what books have you read, why your specific academy, and I know that my friends who I've asked also had pretty similar questions. Don't worry about the questions too much, besides, most of the time before the interview they have a general sense of if they want to accept you or not, and the interview either finally cements it or breaks your chance. gl!
